How much are websites like this worth?

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to get some advice on how much sites like what i am about to Describe below are worth,

I don't want to give away the names of the sites or the exact niche they are but I will give as much info as possible and also just to point out I am not asking for exact figures just ball park figures on their worth.

Do start with I will say the sites DO NOT make money right now, however they're exact matching domains for a keywords that gets 6k+ lookups a month locally.

The domains are based on keywords to cover the city of London
Wedding catering London (the domain is not for wedding catering but something close)

The website on the domain has Google front page ranking on every town\bough in London and in most towns at least 3 spots on the front page.
The site is a recommendation site when the user comes to one of the pages they are recommended to use the service listed on the site they then are asked to click on a picture which will take them to the recommended service provider's website.

The recommended service provider is blank right now (hence why the site is not making money) but I am getting 150-200 visits from Google a day from people looking for the service in the London area.

I have about 4 website like this covering different services.

So what I am asking is what you think these sites are worth if I was to sell them on this forum or fillpa or something like that.

Looking forward to reading your views.

Based on my experience, these type of websites are sold around $100- $700. Not more than $1,000. It'll not sold above $1,000 because the site haven't generated any revenue.

Most no revenue sites, that sold on Flippa, often sold cheap. You better to generate revenue for the site first, before you sold it. The site would be sold with high price and faster.

If your site has generated revenue, you could sell it around 10-12 times site's monthly revenue.

Ouch, i though they whould be worth a bit more then that, becasue of the keywords they rank for, i guess maybe will be better trying to sell the sites to people that work in the service area.

I mean the traffic is coming in nicely from Google just needs to be taken up by someone in the right trade and becasue i'm sure lots of the traffic coming will turn to sales.

    Hi,

not really i mean it is aimed at a service like wedding catering in london (close to this) but it is ranked for every bough\town in london so if someone what was in that line of work was to buy it they whould be getting sales daily for sure, and the av price per booking seems to be around the £800 mark.

be good to hear what you guys think.

    Hi bock

thanks for the post but if you read the thread i m saying the sites a not making money they just are on the front page of google for all local keywords and the main keyword gets 6k traffic a month for some keywords the site has spot 1,2,3,4 on the front page, it's a case of if the site redirected to someone that was running a service they whould get tons of client. thanks.

Build a list and sell the leads... Don't sell the website. You will make way more money with what you have.

I think what petelta means by selling the leads is do a deal with a local wedding planning company so that they pay you for every lead you send them or every sale you generate for them. Obviously you would need to work out the best for both parties in regards to whether they pay you for leads or sales.

How do you track this - You could set up an enquiry form that a prospective client fills out and is forwarded to the company or you could just simply charge a monthly figure for the wedding company details to be displayed on your site. Or you could set up a unique telephone number (this probably relies on the honesty of your client) or there could be other ways I haven't thought of.

As mentioned you would be a lot better off initially to monetize your site first.

Snapper thanks for the info, yes i see what you mean and i think that whoud make great money in the long run, just a time issue to do all that hence why i am thinking of selling the sites, they are ranked for all there local keywords (every town in london!) and getting lots of traffic just don't have time to contact shops and setting up lead capture etc.

Before generating profit if you want to sell the site you can do that. But that will not be a profitable business for you. If I were you, I first tried to make some revenue from this and then try to sell that. Even depending on the amount of revenue, the decision of selling the site may be changed.

If you are getting consistent 150-200 visitors a day, then that would be about 4500-6000 visitors a month. You can certainly sell it more than $500. But if you are getting that many visitors, why not just use it to monetize it yourself. You can certainly applied to become an affiliate of these kinds of services and make money doing so.

that's intresting joey not seen many affiliate programs for the sectors the sites are in however i will take a deeper look. I was thinking of maybe emailing a few other websites that are offering the same service and see if they want to buy the site or maybe list it on this forum and others and see what works out better.

All things aside - I normally work out a site's value by 10 - 12 x the monthly income as long as you have had the site for six months or more.

If the site is not earning anything and it is just a start up you will not get a fortune for it unless you have something that is difficult to replicate.
