Anyone else got this email? More drops on the horizon in other categories?

Dear Amazon Associate,
We're writing to tell you about several important changes to our Operating Agreement, including revised advertising fee rates. All of these changes will be effective July 1, 2012.
We will be changing rates for the following product categories within the Amazon Associates Program:
* Magazine Products sold on Amazon.com will increase to a 25% fixed rate from a volume-based rate of 4 - 8.5%
* Grocery Products sold on Amazon.com will move to a 4% fixed rate from a volume-based rate of 4 - 8.5%
* MYHABIT will move to a fixed rate of 8% from a fixed rate of 15%
* Industrial Products sold on Amazon.com and all Products on AmazonSupply.com (previously known as SmallParts.com) will move to a fixed rate of 8% from a fixed rate of 15%

    I got the email and I am stoked about the increase to AmazonSupply.com. Looks like I'll be running some local classifieds ads again! @ 15% I can't turn it down. Woohoo!

    You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

      BloggingPro, it's moving to 8% from 15%. Don't want you to run out and pay for advertising only to realize that afterward (but maybe the ads can still be profitable?).

    I read that today too. But, I did not really focus on the details. I guess it shows that having multiple sources of income may be good in internet marketing.

      Maybe too many affiliates are making more money off of Amazon than they would like them to.

    Who knows the reason for this change...but I can guarantee they are testing to see if affiliates start dropping out, thus, lowering over all sales. Or, maybe they'll net more by paying out less. Time will tell why this change is taking place.

    Like another poster said, always keep building your income streams so changes do not affect you that much.
