Any Recommended Ways To Create A Membership Site ?

I'm looking for any suggestions to create membership sites quickly and easily. I have heard Wishlist Member is good but wanted to know if anyone had some additional insight.

I have purchased a course where you log in straight through wordpress. Would this be a good option for me?

It would also help if I could set up a membership site with the use of this software/plugin with little knowledge of programming.

I use Digital Access Pass and love it. The problem with free solutions like S2 member is that they could stop updating and supporting their product at any time -- in which case you would be left in a vulnerable position.

I much prefer to use paid solution because I know, for the most part, if these companies are making good money from the software then they have a vested interest in supporting, updating and improving the software as time goes on.

Digital Access Pass is great but so feature rich it can
become overwhelming. I wish there was an 'Apple'
style solution that made it super simple if required!

But yeah, I also recommend RAP.. Ravi (I think it is) and
his wife are constantly updating and supporting there

      Hi Joe,

We've also been making it easier and simpler to use with each new release. See our release history and you'll agree.

You can also see our Quick Start Guide which explains how you can set up DAP in under an hour.

So you can easily start with just the features you really need to get going with, and as your membership site grows, or you get more "ideas", the features will be readily available in DAP - just waiting for you to start using them :-).

      Cheers!

After reading up on Wish vs. DAP, seems your platform is more robust and able to meet our prelim specs. Popped over to your Forum page and wanted to kibbutz the user base so when I make a pitch on DAP for my client to deploy, I got my facts straight. What's the preferred path to access your Forum prior to hitting your buy button?

      Hi there.

I am probably going to be the odd one here and recommend the WarriorPress plugin. It works well with OptimizePress. It's a membership plugin that is Designed for internet marketers integrating WSO plus, JVzoo and well other payment systems. But to be really honest although I owned It i have yet to launch my product running on Warriorpress. It's currently listed as a wso. Its also relatively cheap $19 for Single site license and Multi it will be $77. There is drip content feature plus other

I know DAP and wishlist are the "kings" out there but I really like Warriorpress membership plugin

I tried S2Member out and it's not bad for a free one, though it's a complex setup. I ended up purchasing the multi-site license for Wishlist Member after getting to help a friend set it up on a site. It's pretty easy to use and the support is awesome when you run into issues (I did and support was quick to help)!

So yeah, Wishlist Member is what I use and recommend.

the best and surest way to success with membership sites is to give them what they want and not want you want to give them. Do you already have a community or list? You need to have a community or list plenty of them, so that you can inform them of your membership site. this will give you better results than starting it from scratch

I agree with this. I am the most computer illiterate person I know, and even outsource this these days, but you can set up these sites in minutes.

IF you have blog, then you can have optimize press up and running in minutes and traffic and sales the same day.

Raji - I tried to PM you but I'm still a newbie so the forum wouldn't let me but maybe you could PM me? We are looking at purchasing one of your installation packages but I haven't been able to get a response from the contact info on your website (sent 3 emails and left 3 voice mails since last week). We're on a super tight deadline and need to move forward asap.

    Many thanks!

  • Personally I now officially hate Amember as they require you to enter a new key every year to activate it. My site was rendered unusable for god only knows how long before I realized this. Cost me a small fortune. Don't know why they couldn't have sent me an email, or phoned me, or warned me or something - So over priced and also lame.

While I am ranting - on a side note- I hate vbulletin too. What a crappy script that turned out to be. I have used it before with success, lately it has caused me so much grief. PHPbb works even better and it is free - So officially I hate amember and vubulletin.

Use Login Frequency Marketing. Little bit of a learning curve, but it has loads of features, and you can use it on as many sites as you like. I have been using it for years and love it. Plus Robert Puddy is just a really nice guy.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a free membership script out there that is totally awesome.

Because I have put up with so much crap from overpriced products that suck I am investing in creating an affordable solution. Don't hold your breath though - it won't be available any time soon.

  • Ok I still have more to say. You have to be careful with really careful with membership site scripts. Some do not protect your content, so it gets stolen - and that sucks. With login frequency marketing, easy video player, and amazon s3 you protect your content nicely.

Anyone else try using warrior press plugin? It looks really easy to use and setup but I had one person tell me they tried using warriorpress on 2 of their launches and it kept deleting the member levels and wouldnt register a bunch of people?

Without hearing from others using warrior press with success, it makes me hesitant to take a chance trusting it to handle 2,000+ sales in 24-72 hours.

If you are looking for PHP + MYSQL e-commerce solution, then you can check a private sale solution, developed by Plumrocket company. I think you can find it on their site. The good thing that they sell complete e-commerce script and you dont have to worry about buying some separate extensions, modules. You can also extend it with cart reservation, magento invite friends functionality with ability to import address book and magento reward points extension. If you really like Fab.com or Gilt.com you can add some magento social shopping extensions such as live feed plugin, inspiration wall, faves... etc.

I really wouldn't suggest this type of setup. Why build your business on a house of cards if you don't need to? You want your membership site to be successful right so why would you want to give control of that asset to a third party?

If you don't have the skills to create the membership site yourself then I would highly recommend you just pay someone to set it all up for you.. but you should definitely be hosting it yourself.

I've tried many programs out there including emember, wishlist, s2member, fastmember and RAP.

I can tell you that if you are none technical and want the easiest one out of all of them then go for Fastmember.

I literally thought I was missing something with Fastmember as I was used to all the other platforms which have serious learning curves attached.

But it is a really well done plugin but the updates are not as often as I would like.

But saying that it integrates with Digiresults, JVzoo, Clickbank and Warrior+.
