Promoting Christmas Cards in 4 months

I am creating a website for a client of mine who sells Christmas Cards. He wants me also to promote it for him and he is willing to invest like $400/mo in SEO. He wants to make profit from this coming Christmas. The domain is 10 years old, and he claims that this made a lot of money for him in the past. (Before www2)

Here is my questions:

1. Is this realistic, based on the above data ?

2. What is the best SEO Technic to bring good traffic for this short amount of time? (4 months)

3. Is there a good SEO company you can recommend ? I don't think I can do it myself

    Sure, it's a very reasonable expectation.

    I would do it by pointing traffic to the new primary
    domain from existing, aged domains that already rank
    for long-tail keywords.

    Thousands of these well-ranked, excellent aged domain
    names are available every day.

    Let me know if you'd like more specifics on how to do this.

        There are literally hundreds of thousands of keyword-rich,
        domain names, many with hundreds of inbound links and
        high rankings in Google and major directories, that are
        routinely not renewed.

        You can often pick up these domain names for a fraction of
        what you would pay for one day of the traffic that domain is
        getting, if you bought the same traffic via PPC... or a fraction
        of what you would pay for a single solo ad


        Simple stuff. Maybe I'll get one of my geeky friends to do a
        webinar explaining the easiest way to do this, including how to
        tap into the major databases to monitor keywords of interest

    Brilliant idea about aged long tail domains. Many are cheap to pick up on SEDO simply because people get bored and sell on their domains
