Made my First Commission As A Clickbank Vendor. Now What?

So I listed a product on clickbank in the weight loss niche on 6/19/12 and I made about $10.62 commission after an affiliate sold a copy.

I have no idea how to ramp up the sales. I also need to know am I doing terrible or is this right on track in terms of only having 1 sale after a few days?

Have you sold any copies of the product yourself?

If you haven't done that then how can you expect affiliates to promote for you?

You first need to send traffic to the product, split test things, and get the product converting well. If you don't do that then although the odd affiliate may promote the product for you, when they see themselves making very few sales because of a poorly tested sales page and funnel, they will just move on and go to better converting products.

In answer to your question, no, it's not as simple as just creating a product, sticking it on Clickbank and thinking the sales will roll in. If that's your plan then you are going to be quite disappointed.

I have just begun to test the product. I am doing some ppc through adcenter but I really don't know what I am doing. I am stumbling my way through it all.

I did $50 of ppc traffic on adcenter and got 89 clicks on my ads. I had 24 keywords and I put most of them in their own adgroup. I did not get a single sale from any of those clicks. I am going to test with $300 of pcc traffic on adcenter next and see what that brings.

The thing is, I am not sure how to know what the data means. I am not sure if nothing converted from my test because the price point or what. I am very confident in my product and my sales page. I need to know what I am looking for though.

Don't spend money on PPC advertising until you tried free routes first such as do follow blogging, article submission, forum posting. PPC is only good in my opinion if you have tested your product through free routes first. PPC will help you to reach a wider audience.

    First at all, congratulations!

Here just my own personal opinion:

Whatever you have done, at least you got something that producing. My advice, you just repeat and rinse. At this stage, i think maybe you already know what are works, and just focus what works for you.

    Move to positive forward!

If you would like to get traffic using paid traffic, maybe you could use direct media buying, instead of PPC. It's easier. There's no learning curve like in PPC. You just need to create the banner ads.

You could use BuySellAds to look for the adspaces. Just advertise on website that related with weight loss niche, so you can get targeted traffiic, and the traffic can be converted into sales.

Thank you all. I am going to go the buysellads route and look into the content networks for traffic. Media buys looks like my best best since it is my own product, the roi should be great.

Use youtube: make a video related to your product and post it on youtube. Make some optimizations and link building and use a direct link into video description to redirect the traffic to your clickbank product.

Yes, if you want to try media buying, BuySellAds is the best and easiest option. The site makes direct media buying become so easy to do.
My tips to use BuySellAds, do research first to choose which website to advertise on. So, you could advertise on website that have your targeted users and the price still can give you good ROI.

You should be the one making sales...first and foremost.

I recommend people build a presence in a niche first and learning how to make consistent sales as an affiliate...so they can teach their affiliates how to market their stuff.

Lead by example and make consistent sales...then show some people how to do the same.

      Works well,

      -Rusty

Throw that customer into your backend selling cycle.

    Keep advertising.

    Keep doing free marketing.

Put together an "affiliate sign up page" and submit it to the major affiliate directories... so that you can get more new affiliates.

    And lastly... CONGRATULATIONS!

That's awesome man. That means affiliate are obviously driving traffic. Now what you want to do is to:

    1) Increase EPC (earnings per click) by adding upsells, downsells, etc.
    2) Keep making your product better
    3) Create more tools for affiliates to use i.e. banners ads, pre-written articles, etc.
