Subject: Re: Lolmode Advertising

Hi Nick,

I have a client that currently wants their ads placed within the content of brand new posts that go live on sites. They are pa*****.com and they are willing to pay you $250 for a year if you can add the words par*****.com (including the hyperlink) somewhere in a new post that goes live. I've attached an image that you can use on lolmode, and underneath the image I would want this:

If you don't want to get attacked by poker-playing cats, go to pa*****.com from the safety of your own home.

If you could put up the image in a brand new post with that sentence as the caption underneath it, we can pay you $250 through PayPal for the image and link to remain there for a year. If you could go ahead and do that, just send me the url of the new page with and send me your PayPal account info. Then, I just have to submit a form to my client and they can get you paid within 1-2 business days. If you have any other sites that would also allow this, then I would love to see them too.

pa****** must be getting desperate. I was contacted by a different (and I'm sure legitimate) agency who wanted me to either write a post or allow them to guest post on a site. The only similarity is that my site is card game related. It isn't a gambling site and so I rejected them.

I don't know how G views links to gambling sites, but I wasn't willing to find out.

This would be my feeling on the matter as well. Not so much with Big G, but perhaps a few more powerful organizations who aren't feeling very happy towards online gambling these days....

Say ask for $250/month, if you are that unsure...at least get paid more for it.

The way I see it, they're effectively trying to buy a back link from you.

This is something that goes Google really hates, and it's probably best that you don't get involved - sure they might not find out at all that it's a paid link .. since it's being done manually .. but that's not to say things might not "come out in the wash".

And now Google don't just go after the client site, or the site that sells the link, they also go after the agency, there was a big one in the news a while back involving iAcquire who were deindexed by Google for purchasing links for clients.

Also with it being a gambling site, some consider Gambling sites as "bad neighbourhoods" so to speak, yet plenty of gambling sites and other bad neighbourhood sites are still indexed .. so it's difficult to tell how Google deals with these sites.

    Personally I'd say no.

If you run adsense then it's against the rules and you might get banned but if you don't then everything is OK you can publish the post because I also do paid posting on my site.
