Outbound Links -- A Good Idea?

Continuing my tradition of posting trainee-level "debatable" questions, I ask what you guys and gals think about outbound links to other sites and to other pages of the same site?

    Some people think that outbound links give a site a more natural feel - interesting idea.

    You mean if I put a link on my website FROM my website to some other website?
    Well think about a webpage as of a glass of water. The water is the value of your page in the eyes of google. Every time you put a link on that page to some other page, you create a hole in your glass and water start flowing to another glass, which is a page the link leads to.

    Contrary, if you get a link TO your page the water starts flowing into your glass and your page becomes more valuable in the eyes of google.

    So basically you have to minimize the amount of outbound links on your website. Of course you don't have to go too crazy but keep the idea in mind.
