need traffic ideas - anyone got suggestions?

INTERNET MARKETING

ive just started a music dj site and it has tiny 40 people a day, no traffic. need to get withit and get a strategy together. looking to get 500 a day. 1st goal. got 3k twitter follows. when i send out a new blog post i get instant 30 people clicking links. but no one explores, or buy products or signsup for offers. ima web designer by trade, site looks good. but i need some serious traffic ideas. adwords, got 132 people, no money return.(products are dj equipment, highcost) also tried low cost products.

any advice to get the magic 500 a day is totally appreciated. thanks in advance. (at this stage i wouldbe happy to get 100 people)

bear in mind, happy to throw money at it but end of day its a business and i want to turn a profit.
i expect if i got 100 people,1 person would buy.

  facebook ads
  
  even try with ebay aswell since your site is selling alot of dj equipment ebay would be a good way of building a list of buyers. Test the above methods and hope they help.

  hi thanks everyone. prob with ebay is that im not cheapest and i do think people on ebay shop for cheapest. lots of competitors selling same thing, some even cheaper than me. but i beat them all at customer service. my dream business would be an ebay business, no marketing needed as customers are alreadythere.
  
  do ebayers shop soley onprice or do i just need toget my stuff up there. did same with amazon, put up one product as test. no sales obviously.

Its not uncommon at all for twitter traffic to not convert to signups or sales very well. These people are mostly visiting via a mobile device. How many people make buying decisions on their phone? Its a platform to keep connected and do social stuff. People don't do much research of or buying of products like that on their phone. Thats more of a cpu and research thing.

use your twitter followers to do drive social sharing and things like that rather than trying to drive sales with them.

I think for a ecommerce site, you better to use Adwords Display Network (banner ads), and target for related dj websites.

Target your ad placement for dj websites. To get the website list, you can use Google Adplanner.
In this way, your ad will be appeared in dj websites and you'll get targeted traffic, that will easily convert into sales.

Just make sure that your ads are appeared in websites that related with your niche.

If you have money to spend why not look for forum banner buying opportunities.

This way you'll get the most targeted traffic possible.

You need to get involved with a community of DJs. Become their go to guy. Build their trust and then point them to your site.

You can do this via participating in dj forums, joining FB groups and contributing to the discussions, add blogging into the mix for a content strategy.

Key point is to not think about selling at first. Just be a cool guy and provide value to the communities and groups that your in.

You could use social network netlog to get fresh traffic. This social network site have huge amount of real active user. Post blog article and make friends there. Put your link at your profile.

Just focus on forum marketing.
Forum marketing will definitely increase your traffic
when done consistently.
The whole idea is not to do so many things at a time.
Just focus on 1 or 2 traffic strategy & go all out executing
it everyday.

Traffic is certainly needed, however you need to laser target to get conversions, I agree with the above post, forum marketing may well be your best option for free, failing that paid traffic to ensure its targeted!

I agree with Mushin. Forum traffic does tend to convert well. Although it can take time and if you are willing to commit the time then you might as well start guest blogging as well. Every little helps.

This is another good way to get traffic for your dj equipments: participating in dj forums.
Join several dj forums, make good posts, build reputation around the forums, and put your site's link in your signature.

This traffic source is not huge and need time, but it's very targeted traffic. You can get opt-ins and sales from this traffic.

maybe you could try SEO, Adbanner, PPC to pull traffic to your blog. there are actually many ways to get traffic. maybe you can play at WF sub forum on SEO.
