Contests for your lists

I did something new this week with my newsletter.

I had a contest.

I told my list last week that I was going to be starting this, and was curious to see the results.

It was a scavenger hunt. Go to my website, find 3 pieces of info I asked for, then email the answers to me with "Contest" as the subject.

The prize was a free private coaching session.

I'm going to test different prizes, different types of contests and sch - but this was a lot of fun and I was pleased with the results.

Does anyone else use any type of contests for their lists?

    I think anything that engages the people on the list and keeps gives them an incentive - i.e. the coaching prize is worthwhile.

    It also helps build the relationship with the list which as massively important.

    I've not used any contests yet but have bought some plugins for my WP site that do just that .. so I'll have a play with them and let you know how it goes
