Amazon Affiliate Links

Hello all. I find it a little inconvenient the way Amazon only offers their links in HTML code. If I take the "h ref" affiliate link out of the HTML, can I just use that instead of the entire blob of HTML? Or would it break the link somehow?

I think you can - I was thinking this the other day. As long as it contains your affiliate ID then its fine.........i think (havent yet tried)

Yes, you can use the raw url as long as it contains your affiliate code. What you lose is the tracking pixel, so if you track clicks (and you should), you'll need another way of telling when one of your Amazon links is clicked.

Okay, I didn't know that. That must be the reason why they opt to use html instead of the raw link. I'll research some other tracking methods then. Thanks!

      1. Pick a niche that you know something about
      2. Register a brandable, yet related, domain.
      3. Use your platform of choice (I prefer WordPress)
      4. Locate low-competition products (that you know something about)
      5. Promote said products how you see fit (I prefer product reviews)
      6. Include your affiliate links
      7. Earn money

Now, of course, it's not that simple but that the general overview of how to do it.
