Amazon - the use of hyphens in model numbers?

Hey WF!

This is a question for the Amazon Gods.

When you target model numbers do you remove the hyphen? At first I didn't think it would make much difference but when I did a search over at Google Keyword Tool I noticed that a hyphen in the Exact search term can make a difference to the level of competition.

Your thoughts please?

Thanks.

Sanj.

If the manufacturer uses a hyphen, I use a hyphen.

Otherwise it's like targeting misspellings - you might pick up some crumbs. Say you are offering a ZX-1000 widget. You take the hyphen out because you think there will be less competition. Sure enough, someone searches for 'ZX 1000' or 'ZX1000'. At the top of the results page, the first thing that searcher sees is a link that says "Did you mean to search for ZX-1000?" Your searcher clicks the link, and you are toast, my friend...
