Penguin update and article writing

Hello

I think I got hit by the Penguin update.

I have seen differing opinions on the net as to how articles maybe responsible in part.

I employ no black hat tricks at all, and all my articles have excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation, and are all over 500 words. Each has a pertinent link.

Should I still worry about these articles, or move on to something else?

Thank you for your help.

Richard

On warriorforum find a guide of Craig Mako that explains how to work after Penguin.
I've bought and I was very helpful.
    Search as Craig Mako.

Sorry but what did the Penguin update have to do with writing articles?

Besides it was two months ago and the only update that affected article directories was the Panda update, ages ago.

Sorry but I think you're worrying about something that isn't an issue for you.

Penguin focuses, and I may be wrong here, on unnatural backlinks, so if you have suddenly generated a large amount of backlinks when you used to have few, you may be getting penalised.

Penguin, as with Panda, stresses the natural, organic linking structure and content, so if you really want to succeed, you need the top quality content syndicated across the web - this will provide you with high quality, natural backlinks.

So, I doubt your articles are a problem, unless, of course, they are of poor quality and keyword stuffed. Then, however, it's not Penguin which has stuffed you, but rather just Google in general

The Penguin update has nothing to do with article-writing, Richard.

It's (mostly) about where the backlinks are.

If you've been mass-submitting articles using some sort of automated/software process, then yes, you may well want to think about a different strategy for the future - but it's not to do with the articles themselves.

Alexa is absolutely right (as always! ) If you've been "blasting" articles to directories all over the web, you may now be viewed as a spammer under Penguin. It has nothing to do with the quality of the articles themselves.

Although, if you're writing great articles and they're getting syndicated on authority sites, you're going to get far better links pointing back to you -- which can certainly help where Penguin is concerned.

With their big changes as of late (Penguin included), Google seems to really be cracking down on people who are cutting corners (ie: mass submitting, etc.)
