Youtube Videos Ranking Help Me Please

INTERNET MARKETING

I have purchased aout half dozen ebooks on video marketing in the past 2 weeks and I am enjoying it. I am having one problem though.

it seem that for some phrases Google is not allowing any video thru to the first page.. is this the case in your expereince.

One ebook said if there is a video on homepage, then it is GOLD
Another ebook said he tries to stay away from ranking videos if there is one already there.

What are your thought..Please share..

there are literally tons of different variables for this. It all depends on the keywords you are trying to rank your video for, hoe competitive the niche is, and how optimized your video is for that specific keyword.

You need to understand how SEO works to understand why some of your videos will not show up on he first page of Google.

No. It all depends on optimization and, as mentioned above, competition.

A youtube video is just a web page. search engines can't crawl your video so the only thing they have to go on is the content of your page.

A good title, description and tags are essential for a good ranking.

Hi!
Thanks! Its just that for some cases I do see lots of Videos in the Video tab, but none are on the home page everything search...
But based on what you guys are saying..it is that on and off page seo of the youtube page is not strong enough to beat out that of the actual web pages on page 1..

  You have to realize that YouTube itself is a major search engine. So, even if your video doesn't show up in the Google results, it can still do quite well for you just by ranking well in the search results on YouTube. That mostly comes down to your relevance as determined by your title, description, and tags.

You need to remember that your video does NOT need to be on page one of Google to receive traffic.

I assume you put your video on Youtube.

There are plenty of targeted traffic from YouTube itself. I would suggest you promote your video on YouTube by replying to other videos, commenting, etc.

  Agree...you'd be surprised how much traffic comes from deeper result pages. Everyone is just conditioned to assume you need a number one spot...not true.

Make sure you've optimized your videos and are doing on page + off page SEO for each video.

How did you determine this? Ranking video is about the same way Google ranks webpage. The video isn't ranking high because of a number of factors such as links, views, comments and so on. Contrary to what a lot of people assume, video does not have top place or priority when it comes to ranking on Google.

This does not hold any water. If a video rank on homepage it can mean a lot of things. That reminds me, each time I log into my Facebook account, I see a video on the homepage, I have never bother to watch that video before but will do that now that it's necessary. But that does not determine that the video is hot, anyway it just depend on the site where the video is hosted.

Judging by the above statement, you can as well say stay away from ranking webpage if one already exist on the search engine.
For me ONLY a competition analysis can determine whether to vie for the first page or not and also if I lack the necessary skills and time to wait and reap the benefit.

From what I've seen, you can rank youtube videos in Google for almost every search query. It depends on the competition and (as johnben1444 said) how well optimized are your ranking factors (links, views, comments, likes, shares etc.).

If you are producing YouTube videos, from what I have seen there is a very strong correlation between YouTube videos that rank well in Google search results and videos that rank well within YouTube. Focus on your YouTube optimization first.

Everything depends upon the amount of competition, so be aware of that.
