Google is Showing Content Stolen from My Site ... And NOT My Content

Yesterday I found content I've had on my site since 2006 on a Blogspot blog. People steal stuff, I get it. But here's the rub -- it's the BLOGSPOT content that's showing up in Google's search results, NOT the content that's been on my site for six years.

I've filed a DMCA request.

Ever since this latest update, I've really found Google getting worse and worse in a lot of areas. I've noticed a big drop-off in the quality of the results I've been getting. I'm not talking about my own site, but for other sites. I do a lot of research nearly every day, and so I'm very familiar with good results and bad results in my field.

For the first time since I started using Google however-many-years-ago, I'm seriously starting to consider switching to Bing and giving them a real open and honest chance (something I never wanted to "waste" my time doing before). I've heard a number of other people in the "professional" web world say the same thing lately.

It was the "tech-savvy" crowd that brought Google to prominence in the beginning. But it seems many in this crowd are starting to sour on them now.

The beginning of the end? (Granted, it would only be the very-very-very-very beginning it was.)

Google has lost about 10% market share to Bing in the last two years.

You are just one more person to go the way of Bing.

I still use Google, but not exclusively for about the last year.

If you use Firefox as your browser, there is a plug in for side by side search results from both Bing and Google.

I always find the results very interesting. Here's the link for it if you're interested.

Penguin effectively killed one of my sites. Well, not completely, as it has traffic from other sources too. Interestingly my old blogspot site on the same subject has doubled it's traffic figures. I'd be cynical to say that G is favouring it's own sites, but ...........

      Of course they do.

I've said for years, "Google knows what goes on in it's own house, and it goes to the Google well first."

You will probably get the same problems if not more with Bing. I don't think google is getting worse, if anything its getting better. But this type of stuff happens. Most blogs won't get credit where credit is due.

      I'm speechless!

I don't even know where to begin.

Well, I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion and you're more than welcome to believe yours, but I'll stick with my own, actually.

I'm hitting serious problems with more and more Google stuff. They do seem to be going downhill lately.

The latest is trying to get adsense on the emails of a Feedburner feed. This is one of the features that there have been a couple of topics about, but with my account it won't work. I've brought up the problem on their forum and everything I was told, I had already done. Nothing worked

They are doing some intricate things, so it's understandable if there are problems, but they seem to be short of solutions.

A few of their programs are rather clumsy compared to their search, and to gmail. I do agree that their search seems to be losing quality.

I only deal with Yahoo and Bing... even when it comes down to PPC advertising.
