Sandbox..

So big G has sandboxed some of my sites. It's completely my own fault. I built too many poor quality backlinks too fast and I am paying the penalty.

I was wondering if there is a general time frame for the sites to be removed from being sandboxed or has the google pandy update ruined my chances of ever getting those sites indexed again?

    The sandbox is a myth. Period. Your site is either a) de-indexed or b) knocked way down in the SERPs.

    How do you find out which one it is?

    If you get search results using that, you're still indexed. In that case, straighten out your backlinking strategy and slow down a little. Stay consistent with your links in numbers and try to aim only at sites that are the same niche or similar niches to yours. It takes time, but it works.

      I did the search and my site came up so I guess it hasnt been deindexed..

      I will run an on page SEO check and make sure things are in order and then start working on my backlink strategy.

      I usually use SEOmoz to check my on page SEO.. Could you recommend another tool or is that ok?

        I don't use any tools outside of my eyeballs on my site. That's sounds a lot more sarcastic than it really is...but on-page SEO is pretty simple:
        • 100% unique and high-quality writing
        • proper keyword density
        • no "un-natural looking" underlining, bold, or italics
        • every post is 1000+ words
        There are a couple more factors, but I can't give you all my secrets for free.

        I don't recommend a lot of services on the WF, but I've used link packs from Steven several times over the last 10-12 months, and he's never let me down yet. If you're not good at finding backlinks on your own, he's got very reasonable prices. Click the picture in his sig and you can see his thread here in the WF.

    Update your site frequently and don't stop building backlinks. I have gotten many sites out of the sandbox using that method and have written a full guide on this.

    when I tested one of my sites I was hit by a negative serps just like your self, if you see from majestic seo the site that was hit was Yellow Taxis | Taxi And Airport Transfer Specialist's as I was testing the viability of 2.0 sites, but as silly as it sounds since the 21.6.2012 my site started recovering it was hit on the 3.6.2012 but the only thing I changed was the back link juice going to the 2.0 sites, so form my own testing I would suggest giving your back link more juice.
