Choosing Clickbank Account name

When thinking of an account name to use for Clickbank, would it be more ideal to choose a name like - "Discount01"? Rather then "Bobsaffiliate"?

Would this ease peoples suspicions about promoting the product to people on your list? (obviously for niches outside of IM/MMO as they have a lower chance of knowing the the heck Clickbank is)

Yes, definitely. Don't choose usernames that are blatant affiliate usernames. The more you can make them look like a natural part of the link, the better.

Thanks Will. Do you have any words that you have in mind that don't scream AFFILIATE?

    Name as a vendor?

Occured to me it's good to call it close to your product name, so for example if the first affiliate get an upsell of your product that is put in funnel by the vendor they send people too they can figure what sold and look you up. Could be wrong on this.

    I got "page##"
    # = numbers, which I'm sure will do fine.
I'm probably over looking it, but even if it is the difference in making one more sale, it's worth it.

I would choose my affiliate name or CB ID something with numbers like "sa192" or something with a combination of number with few characters because in the url when your id shows and these user ids look like part of the url rather than affiliate links.

    Example:
    sitename.com/?hop=sa192

    is better than

    sitename.com/?hop=robertjames

I used to combine some unique words with the words like offer, discount, coupon code, etc.. And use it as a affiliate username

What if you tried to use the product's name and then add a number to it so that people don't get suspicious? That would be a good idea to use.

You need to know one more thing......

Most people don't check at the bottom of the checkout page the name of the affiliate.

When they are ready to buy and go to the checkout page, they just enter their info plus credit card details and hit the submit button. They are HOT and ready to buy. Figuring out if this goes to an affiliate or not is not even in their thinking at that moment.

You wouldn't of guessed it.. but there is a clickbank username "yourcbid" that generates thousands of dollars worth of sales per month just because of how common people place "http://yourcbid.vendorid.hop.clickbank.net" in their affiliate pages - now that's thinking outside the box!

So I would definitely say yeah, your username does make a huge difference.
