how to start with info products

hi warriors

this is my first post ever. I just wanted to say hi to everyone and hopefully we will spend a lot of productive time together.
I have a big passion in developing info products, specially products about productivity, the internet, social media, and other things.
I just wanted to know if I have the passion and the time to do that, what is the best way to do it?
and if there are a lot of competitors in one market what should I do about that product? should I just forget about it or is there another way to to make it more valuable?
all your ideas and comments will be appreciated.
really like my first experiment with the forums , and I am happy about it

love all

It's better to have competition because it means there is money being made, if no-one else is doing it you need to ask why?

It could be because no-one has thought of it or it could be that no-one wants it.

Start of by building relationships up and give away great content maybe even a give away product so people begin to see who you are and like what you do, then as you build that customer trust do a smal product as a wso and charge a few dollars for it... if people like what you do and it is great info they will pay for it...

Value comes with demand, and if people know what you deliver is great, it doesn't matter if someone else has done something similar or the same because we all have a different view on things, there are a ton of courses on youtube but they are all different in the way the author delivers the content if that makes sense.

Welcome to the forum. You should start with niche marketing. Visit forums in a particular niche to see if a demand exist. Then go to Google's free keyword tool and see if it's a niche worth dabbling in.

After you've confirmed both, type up a high quality 50-page ebook, turn it into PDF format (pdfonline), and price it at $7. Write up a good sales letter, get your website, and upload and start selling. You will more than likely get a nice bit of sales from your $7 product. This will boost your confidence and will inspire you to do more to earn more in your business.

Look for problems and issues that people are having and see if you can find answers to them.

There are plenty in the threads of this forum.

Build relationships with people and see if you can help them out with your talents.

You can also try doing some affiliate blogs to start with reviews on them. These are easy to set up and you can even use Blogger if you have no cash!

Hope this helps and welcome to the forum

    cheers

A: Go around the forum helping people in relevant threads with your knowledge of...productivity, the internet, social media, and other things.- Do not hold back your best nuggets..

B: If what you are saying in one of these threads that you are helpful on is of interest to anyone, they will ask you questions or comment.

C: If enough interest is generated by any of your helpful input, then start thread on that subject. ( Enough interest= a few different people in a few different threads).

D: In your unique thread do not hold anything back and really help people.

E: Do not give rehash info you have pieced together because your dialogue will not only inspire some, but it will have to stand up to the scrutiny of other seasoned pros in your field.

F: If your thread turns into a fire and there are quite a few people showing interest, then intensify your giving to the point that it hits 2k views.... If it does that in less than a week and is still strong.., then it worth starting a report over.

Dont do the report and try to force it on a market....find out what the market is receptive to hearing from you, and prove it, then write the report.

Just because they are interested in hearing it from Jason fladlien doesnt mean they are interested in hearing it from you, they will tell you when they are, but in order to find that out, you have to do what I just described, if you want the best result.

In the end, 1 out of 5 unique threads you start this way will blow up, because you have ensured that all the elements are there.... if it doesnt hit 2k views within 3 days or so....Its not a wildfire and your WSO will get mediocre results.

    Hope this helps.

Ps. NEVER POINT TO YOUR SIG...., or ask a reader to do ANYTHING!

You will know you are onto something when it doesnt require that. If it requires anything other than sharing your truth and the content doesnt make people click by itself...it isnt worth pursuing.

Great to hear you have a passion for creating infoproducts - that gets you 90% of the way there. So many people are simply looking to make money, but they really don't understand how to leverage their passions and strengths.

We have been in the infoproduct business for nearly 20-years, 8+ years offline and 12 years online...the process has always been the same...

    1. Discover niche demand (you can leverage your own background or research on discussion forums, existing bestsellers on Amazon, top magazines, etc...) which will give you a very good sign as to what is popular and what people are already willing to spend their money on.

    2. Develop your own step-by-step instruction to realize that demand. A big hint is that most infoproducts target life transformations (losing weight, changing careers, starting a business, improving their financial situation, overcoming an illness, starting or fixing a relationship, getting an edge on their marketing, etc...) Ideally you want to organize your product to be unique (either in outline, detail or format) - this helps you differentiate your product in your marketing.

    3. Establish a presence online with a blog, website, content (articles, videos, social network posts, syndicated content, etc...) - this helps build your platform, ideally this is organized toward a sales funnel that involves capturing the attention of visitors, getting them to join your list and turning those subscribers into customers.

So immediately, start researching top products in the niches you are thinking about, look for signs of specific desire those top products are targeting, and begin to build your online platform by blogging, article writing and perhaps some screen capture videos on YouTube.

    Never fear competition.

    Why?

Because competition means a proven, hungry crowd of people looking for the solutions you
are in a position to provide. Providing solutions that work for folks is a situation where everybody benefits and everyone wins.

    Hi, welcome to the Warriors.
You've certainly come to the right place.
From your post it appears you have many interests.
The #1 rule in IM is FOCUS.
Find your niche and run with it.
You'll be overwhelmed with ideas and marketing techniques, and courses.
    Bombarded with offers.
There are a number of great courses available.
Do your research, find one you like.
If you want to PM me I can recommend a few.
The first thing you need to do, (after finding your niche),
is get a good domain name.
Personally, I always want a keyword rich domain.
Many marketers prefer a 'catchy' domain name that makes an impression or is easy to remember.
But, I rely heavily on SEO. Others prefer other means of getting traffic.
Once you have your domain, set up a squeeze-page to gather names and email addresses. "The money is in the list".
Write a quality, informative report to give away on your squeeze page.
Include links to your product page.
To increase the value of your product over someone elses,
include as many free bonuses as you can. Give 'til it hurts!
Of course, there's much more, but, hopefully this will help.

Competition is great. It means there is money in the industry.

Research the best products in your industry. When you have found them, start looking at what you can do better. If you know a lot about your industry, there will be areas that you can exploit and start creating new standards for the best products in the industry...

Thank you all for your great replies
    so in a summery
    - competition is good, it means there is a good market with hungry buyers
-I should start with building my audience first, and establish my authority in my niche by regular posting, answering questions and helping other.
    - build a website or a squeez-page and give away well generated content, and build a list.
    - design a product that answers many of my audiences questions, after analyzing the competition.
    - promote the product to the list.

it looks like a plan, I will do that, and hopefully will come back with some results and share it with you guys.
the thing is because it is my first time I might be a little bit excited (or stressed ), but I reach a point where I think years of reading and analyzing is nothing if we will not follow them with even a few minutes of action.
thank you very much, all of you for your great advice.
