When editing your sales thread.....?

Hey guys,

I was just looking over sales threads over in the warriors for hire section, and I realized it could be better. The thread is for our content writing service. We just started out, so we don't have much room to work with, but I know that the sales thread can be improved. When editing your sales thread's, what do you do/look for to improve, and attract more visitors to your thread?

Questions that potential buyers have asked that could indicate a weakness in our copy.

  • I actually nuked mine last night and I'm going to make a brand new one this weekend. I redid it 4-5x during June, about once per week or so. Each time I did, I took what I knew was working from talking to my clients and tried to ratchet that up a little, and I took the stuff that wasn't drawing any interest and removed it from the ad.

As a fellow content creator, I will tell you one thing that DID NOT work at all: I created a completely graphical ad and let it ride for 2-3 days. That sucked...I wasted $20 on a bump and never even got a single email. I converted it back to text and bumped it again and started getting orders almost as soon as I did.

Make sure you are using your skills to demonstrate what you do...don't just write about your services, write about your services. (Yes I know that's contradictory...look for Joe Robinson's WFH thread and you'll see what I mean.)

PS: Your profile says Statesboro...are you a fellow Georgian?

    • Don't forget to put a link to your thread in your signature. Notice Bill's sig and my sig? (I can say that because I don't have an ad up currently LOL!)

    • I have heard of that place.

I lived in Marietta for about one year, when I was a younger lad.
