Anyone else get annoyed by the weekends?

Just seems that the entire internet shuts down on the weekends as no one responds to any emails or anything on the weekends. So frustrating to be the only workaholic online for two days and unable to get ahold of people you need to finish projects.

Anyone else get frustrated by this?

So many people (at least on this site) are trying to free themselves of the work addiction that it is rare to find those who revel in it. However, I suppose that if you really enjoy what you're doing, the addiction becomes natural.

As to the frustration, I hear you; I would probably feel the same way if I had a project due on a short deadline. Good luck!

Nope I don't get annoyed. It's the only time I get to focus on strategy, doing things on my procratination list and generally all those things I don't have time for during the week.

That being said, I regret to admit that I am a workaholic but that's only because I am having so much fun.

This, if you are a workaholic you can still look forward to the weekends. It is an ideal time to play catchup on stuff that lagged behind during the week, a time to plan future projects, and most importantly a time to relax.

A novel idea, yes. We did start working online to have more time to relax though...right?

Why would I get annoyed by 30% of the calendar? Just because the people you are dealing with aren't available on your desired schedule, it's no reason to lash out at two innocent days...

Sounds to me more like a scheduling problem on your end.

Damn right!!! Spare time is over-rated, and I get bored easily. Weekends are boring in my opinion. I prefer the weekday's normal working activity.

I tried the relax-and-enjoy route: work only until noon, grab your laptop and work from the park, enrol golf lessons, have a coffee break and read the papers slowly, etc... Guess what? It was freaking boring!!! I need the challenge!

I suggest you plan ahead of time and have a list of things to do on the weekends that require no communication. Of course this is a generalization and for some people might not be suitable.

I believe in Tim Ferris - 4 Hour Workweek idea! It is summer. I relax, see friends. Go to the beach, movies and restaurants with friends. I play tennis, hike and ride my bike a lot. I let the weekend help me recharge my batteries. Less is more!

Please release this WSO. I will be the first buyer! lol.

I honestly didn't expect this thread to still be alive after returning home from the 9-5.

I wasn't trying to imply people are lazy, or that they shouldn't be enjoying their family time, or anything like that.

I was just venting a bit. I have little patience (I'm working on it! promise!) and the instantaneous nature of internet business has spoiled me. I tend to work very fast lol. Sometimes you have to have others help you, and when big plans are made, and emails are blasted out, I realize, "Oh crap! It's Saturday!" and realize I have to wait it out until Monday to get replies.

A few things I've learned this thread:

      1. People are annoyed by people who are annoyed. hehe

      2. Many warriors enjoy their weekends off.

      3. I need to start taking some days off!

To all you weekend warriors, keep fighting the good fight! To everyone enjoying your weekend, have a beer for me!

      All the best,
      Robert

The easy solution of course is to bury yourself in content-related stuff that doesn't require communications or if you are the type who outsources everything then bury yourself in research/reading but I understand the frustration fo waiting for the wheels to turn - heh man in Ireland we have turned that kind of mentality into an artform on any day of the week - thankfully the internet is not country-dependent

It frustrates me at times because although I enjoy doing non-computer things on the weekends, sometimes I'm on such a work roll that I spend most of the weekend working. I enjoy it. And when I have a weekend like that, I often need to connect with others but nobody's around. You can't always plan when you're going to be inspired to have a super-productive work weekend.

I guess I fit in to the workaholic section. All my kids are grown and gone. My husband is off during the week. That is when I would rather have days off. Weekends are a quite time and when I could be the most productive, but everyone else especially during the summer is gone.

Here in Florida we say.. Time to go to the beach

Actually, my main business is as a 'service provider' and Fri, Sat & Sun are our busiest and most profitable days. So, over the years I have hired people to work the weekends. It has worked out so well that I have time to post here (enjoy myself) on the weekends go to the beach. Typically take off Fri afternoon through Mon morning myself.

I love weekends. It's the fun time of the week and I get to spend a lot of time with my kids.

Unlike a lot of people it seems, work for me is a means to an end. I get a hell of a lot more satisfaction from the kids than I do from toiling on the internet. Splashing around in a pool, with them, on a hot day is heaven to me.

    Hi Robert,

We don't get annoyed when our clients are not responding to us on emails during weekends. Here in Content Writing 360°, we analyze the patterns as to what day and time they respond the most and find the 'reachability rate.'

This is not an overnight task and you may have to spend 3 to 4 weeks to get the numbers and patterns. You may want to watch (and read since the video does not have a voice over) this video below. We're not associated to the person who made this video but this is what I can pick up fast on YouTube as I type this message.

5 Best Practices For Increasing Email Program Response Rate and Driving Deeper Customer Engagement

    I hope this helps.

The Only thing I hate about weekends is that there are so many boats at the boat ramp that sometimes I have to wait 10-15 Minutes to back my trailer down.

Come on people, Take a break, it does your brain good and your body too.

Keep a notepad handy or use your smart phone to jot down ideas, plans etc for monday.

But come The weekend, Just chill mate, its good for you.
Personally I only answer support on weekends. They are way too much FUN.
