How Do You Work? What's Your SECRET To Getting Things Done?

Hey Warriors,

Thought I would drop in and ask this to see if I can get any tips from other people as well as tell you how I achieve A LOT more per day.

Basically working for yourself, as most of you know, takes some getting used too.

In fact it takes a different mind set.

In a 9 to 5 you can sit there for 8 hours if you wish - of course you risk getting sacked but the point is that you will get away with "being there" for 8 hours a day and at the end of the week you come out with a wage.

Working for yourself is FAR different!

You are NOT GUARANTEED a wage!

So thought I would start this thread so we can drop our ideas in here and help each other get more done.

The number 1 thing I have found helps me get MORE done is spending all day browsing forums! < Ok that is a bad attempt at ironic humor!

On a serious note if you want to get more done:

1. Decide what you are doing it FOR! - Most people don't know! Money is not enough! You need something that excites you - a goal a picture and a outcome.

Decide what you WANT!

Write it all down on a bit of paper - get creative - not JUST:

More money!

Write down what you want with that money!

Then write down a number next to each one between 1-10 - 1 means you want it just about, 10 means you would kill for it!

2. Take Action - Yes I know people are ALWAYS saying this! But taking action is not enough! You need to know exactly what you are doing and how you are going to do it.

Most of us already KNOW what we need to do to make money online!

You just need to do it.

Shut down your email.

Shut down the Warrior forum. I know but it HAS to be done if you want to get any work done!)

Then set a goal today!!!

Start off small -

"Today I am going to get my first site up and running!"

Then don't leave your seat till it is done.

Do not get distracted - keep on going!

3. Don't Kid Yourself! - This is more for Warriors that are already making money online - let me ask you a question:

"How many times have you started a new project and then got sidetracked by an existing project?"

For instance you have a site set up that is making money.

You go to start a new project and then before you know it you kid yourself saying:

"Maybe I should try pushing my existing project as that is doing well?"

This does hold some valid points BUT more often that not it is just an excuse to stay in the comfort zone!

Be like a laser and focus on your target till it is complete - win or lose see things through to the end.

You will have more successes and then you can build on them.

4. Reward Yourself - Once you have achieved what you set out to do - i.e set up a website - once you have done this reward yourself!

Don't think:

"I will reward myself when the site is making money!"

or

"I will reward myself when I am a millionaire!"

Do it NOW!

Start enjoying your life and your work - after all that is why you are here?

You want to better your life!

Have a look around and be grateful for what you have and start building!

I hope this makes sense?

Just a few points I use to get A LOT more done in the day!

What do you do to make the most of your day?

Chris

I make a list of just 6 things that I must get done in a given day.

If I have completed those 6, then I will move on doing more tasks if I have time.

No matter what happen though, all 6 items on my list must be done before the day ends.

Limiting yourself to a set of 6 tasks to do is essential if you want to be productive yet don't want to be burned out at the same time.

      I like it!

Looks like you get more done that me lol, I do this too but I normally put 3 things on the list.

Also if I may add what I normally do is look at the 3 items and make SURE they are connected to achieving the goal I have set.

      So an example would be:

Goal: To Get A Product Out There

      Steps:

      1. Research Niche

      2. Build Website

      3. Sales Copy

Of course the beauty is that once you get the ball rolling you can outsource 2 and 3!

Then you have more room on your to do list.
