How to promote a fiverr gig?

I have searched and can't find a definite thread for this topic and think it will be useful for a lot of people. I have 8 fiverr gigs but none of them are making a lot of money, some are quite specific but others are broad enough to make sales daily. How have you promoted your gigs with success before?

I use to promote them on my web pages. Sadly, um FIVERR is no longer giving out HTML code like before to create promos. Therefore it requires more work on your part to create listing on your own posts or pages. Mostly, you can use Google to point to your web site and then convince people they should order your gigs.

Do not rely on fiverr for your traffic as you will not get very many uniques. I was getting a few per month, but it was pennies. Please remember that you only get $3.92 per gig. That means a lot of orders to make some money.

Also, not every order is a conversion. There are people who will not like your service. In fact, they can demand a refund from you. Fiverr now holds my money 20 days before they send it off to pay pal, and this can only get worse.

Best solution is to create your own gigs. Then do not go thru Fiverr, but list them on your site and ask for more than $5 each, such as $25 or more. People will pay. That is if you have an excellent service. Problem is to have first build up an awesome rep.

I too agree with seobro. Fiverr has started to see dollar signs and are really making their site lowbrow. Other high sellers on fiverr know the tricks to getting their gigs listed.

There is black hat techniques that you can use to get listed high on Fiverr, but I wouldn't recommend them. This is the only thing I know to tell you! Sorry, but Fiverr got disinteresting a long time ago for me when they started selling those spammy backlinks for $5!

    1. Get yourself on the alternative sites (fiverr clones). Some of these sites get lots of traffic and people are making good money on their gigs
    2. Join niche forums and post your gig. I have many gigs up on fiverr that get 10-20 sales per day just from referrals off of these types of forums.

I think not only sell a gig but also sell your skill
There are some ideas to improve your gigs/skills sales:

    1. Build your gigs to another freelancer forum like:
    odesk.com
    freelancer.com
    elance.com
    vworker.com
    peopleperhour.com
    freelanced.com
    project4hire.com
    ifreelance.com
    superlancers.com
    freelanceswitch.com
    hiretheworld.com
    freelancers.net

    2. If you really have special skill, you can try to build a thread on WSO section or Warrior for hire. I think you can earn much money by there.

    3. Use social media like FB, Twitter, Linkedin, Youtube, etc to promote your skills and sell them

    4. Build a simple site (I recommend a landing page) about your skill's service and then advertise it using free and paid advertisement, you can buy google adwords coupon if you want

    Good luck

Spend 5$ and buy a Fiverr gig that will help you promote your gig. I used to offer a Twitter advertising service on Fiverr and had a lot of other Fiverr users that bought my gig to promote their gig.

Just be careful to order a valuable gig that will actually get you some traffic.

There is a link in Fiverr under each gig to promote it. So I did and wanted to share my new gig to my twitter followers. But twitter didn't publish the tweet and gave me an error that the link was of spammy nature. How come? It was just the link to my fiverr gig.

      Hmm. Interesting question.

The problem may be you tweeted just the link. I've never sent out a tweet that was just a link; there's always a pithy comment attached to it.

How about trying your tweet again from your own account and including a few words of explanation?

I only use fiverr for outsourcing purpose as I don't believe that $5 worth my time even thinking out of the box .. Fiverr is so huge, that your gig simply gets lost..try first to optimize your gigs ..upload a video ..get positive feedbacks..etc than do forums marketing, article marketing, video marketing, classified ads, soloads, facebook groups, twitter, fiverr clones ..etc the first thing I consider as outsourcer are feedback's and time of delivery .

Well, if you want SEO traffic to your gig it's drop-dead simple...

      1. Make your gig title a higher searched phrase with maybe 1-2 more words at most. ie: Cheap Logo Design.

      2. Stuff the gig text with relevant keywords.

      2. Blast your gig URL with SB's & TB's with your title anchors "cheap logo design" and you will be ranking in the top 5 for that term.

Fiverr's site has so much authority right now junk links will shot your gig up to the top of G for its optimized title.

Add a video to your gig - a gig without a video is a very effective way to blend in with 90% of the gigs on Fiverr. That's a winning strategy for a rodent at the bottom of the food chain but YOU want to stand out! Videos entice clicks, plus you'll be able to explain in much more detail what your gig is all about.

I try to upsell my other gigs to people who buy my gigs. Also, I encourage them to 'collect' my gig.

Sig links on warrior forum works nicely, besides that you have to have gigs that are slightly different than all the others or you'll never get any customers.
