    By understanding the basics first.

I think that little post, and the two longer ones linked to inside it, may help you.

I make my full-time living as a ClickBank affiliate, but I don't really find SEO very useful for it. Out of all the marketing methods I've tested, in a large range of different niches, traffic from Google opts in least often, and buys least.

"SEO methods" are also a very unreliable, precarious and insecure way to build an affiliate marketing business. As so many Warriors have found out over the last year or two (some of them to their very great cost!) a business that depends on Google for its primary traffic can never be more than one algorithm change away from a potential accident, or even a potential disaster. In other words, if you go about things this way, the long-term security of your business is outside your own control.

Many people do exactly that, though - and this is a big part of why the overall success rate in affiliate marketing is on the low side.

If you're completely new to affiliate marketing, you just need some training because there are a lot of bits a pieces that you need to know in order to get everything to come together the way it should. Different people do things differently, so you're bound to get a lot of conflicting information -- especially since everyone here is not at the same level. With that said, you definitely need to start a niche blog.

A niche blog is a blog that centered around a particular topic and consist of both product reviews and articles. You will get traffic from both of them. You also need an opt-in form to start building a list (how the gurus make a bunch of sales in a few hours or days). The only keys for choosing a niche are that it be profitable and be a niche market that you have an interest in/ It would also be easier for you if you knew something about it ahead of time.

    Good luck,
    Joey

Yeah, you definitely need to get some type of training.
Some AM's opted for the wealthy affiliate program. It's
a monthly membership program. If you don't want to go
that route, visit amazon and check out the reviews of
several books, then see if your local bookstore have it
so you can physically flip through it.

When you find a training method you like, start implementing
the suggestions right away and keep track of your experience
so you can look back and see what's working. There's a ton
of info out there so start with only 1 or 2 sources so you don't
    get overwhelmed.
