How do I get traffic and make sales

Ok! So I have the Site, I have the Product and I am releasing publications through ezinearticles. What else do I need to do to increase traffic to my site. I haven't had any sales yet and it is a little disappointing but i will keep plugging along.
I am using socialadr for backlinks, twitter and facebook. How do i get more traffic???
Any advice would be nice! And please don't push any affiliate products on me..No budget Either!

What about press releases?
Do I keep writing articles?
Maybe I have a piss poor sales page?
check it out and tell me what you think. Its my first website and my first attempt at affiliate marketing!
Any input would be appreciated!

    To be honest you've picked a tough niche to start your business in, but it you crack it, its certainly a lucrative one!

    For this niche you need to really target your traffic! forum posting with a signature could be useful, or for something completely different try targeting your local comunity for traffic, such as leisure centers and places where they do fitness clases and try a bit of leafleting! waiting for organic traffic could take a while, and in that niche you face fierce competition from millions of people, so keywords are going to have to be very unique or you can forget google!

    Also as you said bits and pieces like press release and ezines etc won't hurt!

    Hey Bro... for what it's worth, I'm going to give you a piece of advice I wish someone had told me years ago and it's very obvious.

    They light at the end of the tunnel is this: Make your own product and have affiliates sell your product, that's where the money is.

    Work to that goal!

    I'm slowly starting to realize that the only way to make money as an affiliate marketer is to do a "how to be an affiliate marketer and make gazillions" e-book. which means that I would be full of S**T..Lots of mentors out there, but I haven't heard of anybody making money pushing one product!
    Is this a valid statement?

      you need a clear plan in place, don't just do a bit of this and a bit of that

      make a list of 10-15 things you are going to do for this site (and every site you promote) and slowly work your way through it

      i.e.
      ping
      web 2.0
      bookmarks
      video
      articles
      press releases
      slides

      etc etc i could list this stuff out all day, it's up to you to decide what strategy to use for your site

      You are correct my friend. A lot of people selling the same old redone crap and never coming up with a legit "Business." Buyer Beware!

    The best way to get traffic for wieght loss niche is to actually create a blog that is interesting and adds value to the user. Most weight loss sites are junk and if you create something that is usefull the traffic will start to flow naturally

    To get 'real' sell, you need to get more targeted traffic to your sales page / website. That is the key to get the sells.

    And doing only Ezine will not help you either, try various methods to bring traffic.

    I suggest you to build a right keyword research first before you continue writing articles.
    Keywords is very important for on-page SEO and by them you can drive targeted visitors by Google or social media like Youtube.
    If you have optimized the on-page SEO, you can continue to optimize the off-page SEO by link building (backlink, etc)
    Then you have to wait for 3-6 weeks until the SEO affected and your articles are indexed. I am sure that your site will get huge traffic if you do it by top level SEO.
    Higher rank you get, More traffic you get, More money you get.
