There is no shortcut in internet to make money. You must learn all the processes first. You will see a lot of scams around the web but do not get trapped by them. It will be self destructing.

First of all, you must learn how to make a good website. Then learn the processes of SEO. After that, you may earn from different affiliate sites, PPC or you may earn by selling your own product.

Try to be regular member of this forum. You will get a lot of help here about web development and internet marketing.

I am glad you already understand the part that making money online is not as simple as how many make it sound. It is just like any other business. It requires you to have the following:

1) Interest and perseverance

2) Knowledge base - You have to start gaining knowledge on the various ways to make money online (there are tonnes) and see which suits you best. you can judge on which suits you be taking into account your availability of time, startup capital, interest, competition, technical knowledge

3) Once you have a narrower list of what suits you, embark on a knowledge gaining process. You have to read up on how to plan and execute the business - This is where many newbies totally drop out of their aim in succeeding online simply because they lack patience and very often become targets of those trying to sell so called "high quality" IM teaching aids with all kinds off false promises. Be very cautious when you decide to buy any materials being sold out there. At the warrior forum, things here are much safer than anywhere else but yet, you still have be cautious especially if you have a limited startup budget.

4) Once you have gained some knowledge, plan and execute. An online biz will not just boom overnight. you need to be patient, study on results that you get and look at ways to make it better.

start small and once you get the hang of it, you can expand. Do not jump into a 100 types of businesses at once.

Hi James, welcome to the forum. If there's one thing I'd underline, it's that making money online IS NOT A WALK IN THE PARK, If you're expecting to make a killing by clicking a few buttons, you've come to the wrong place

However, if you're willing to put the time, the effort, and the commitment to the world of IM, I'd personally suggest you get yourself the right course.

Now, thousands of these products will promise you the moon and the stars, yet offer nothing but dissappointment and an effective way of wasting your time. You NEED to make sure you're getting on-board with something that has a proven track history, and that real people on the forum can vouch for.

Personally, I'd recommended BTF (Bring The Fresh) Although, it may be a little overwhelming for a newbie.

In your position, I'd suggest you spend some time reading through the forum, familiarize yourself with the terminology, the methods and the processes, then look at getting yourself started with a solid foundation, i.e a course that will lead you in the right direction

Oh, also, be prepared to fail at your first attempt or so, it's all part of the process of getting started online

As with most answers here there are a few things you need to learn, the most important 2 are the business behind the MMO and the Marketing side of it, everything else will fall into place.

As one of the warriors said above, sites are nothing to build and with apps like wordpress you can have a nice looking site within minutes and free if you really want to start cheap, but understanding how things work and the process of people spending money is the big thing, it isn't as simple as get someone to look at your offer and they will buy, but, saying that it can get as simple as that if you find the right product.

The key thing is find a target audience that are looking for a solution to their problem, this is keyword research, most people are almost ready to buy so they will take less convincing.

Over all get the education, however, don't try to learn it all at once, learn one technique like video marketing, make that work so you understand it them move on to other things.

You could always sell a $7 product and make money off of it real fast, but you need the traffic to back this up. Learn how to get traffic, make sure you're in a profitable niche, and start getting sales. Your greatness online won't come overnight.

You are going to get slammed with a lot of options and ideas. None are right or wrong...but they may be right and wrong for you.

I think you need to answer a couple of questions...

1) What are you good at

2) What can you see yourself doing everyday...I like to write, and write everyday...thats just example...what about you

3) Why internet marketing? What is it about internet marketing gets you going

4) Are you willing to work your butt off?

5) Do you see this as a business or hobby?

6) What are you passoniate about...people-money-helping others--getting rich---if you had all the money and time in the world...what would you be doing.

I ask you these questions for a very specific reason.

In internet marketing you will hear a lot of pitches and people telling you all kinds of things. Some of them true...some of them are not.

Sometimes people just tell you things they have read somewhere but never experienced themselves.

SO...you have to be secure with who you are and what you want to accomplish.

Because if you are not...then you will spend more time on these boards learning than doing.

You should be spending about 10% of your time learning and 90% of your time creating an income.

But here are a couple of things that will resonate with you later down the road

Learn, learn, learn. There is sooo much to learn. Find a path, commit to it, then find a course on what it is you want to do. Learn some more then find out all you can about traffic. Then spend spend spend and promote the S&^t out of your product. CPA works well
Also set-up a website and in your own name. Play with it and learn how to do it so that when the time comes you are ready to go.

Start buying WSOs. I bought over 200 of them got to understand IM really well. I now have a blueprint in my head.

plongmire is right, you are going to get a lot of "this is the way to go" and at least half if not more of that will be crap. But you've got people recommending some great free resources in this thread.
My suggestion is find somebody that has helped other people succeed online and learn what they are doing. There are millions of ways to make a buck on line but not too many people can teach others how to get there too.

You sound like you have information overload, so here's how to narrow it down. Write down your criteria . . . be honest about yourself, and what you want, but also be realistic. For example, if you are not the kind of person who can persuade anyone to do anything else, then you need a method which does NOT require you to write ad copy (don't believe those who say that "anyone can do it", it's just not true). If you want a long-term income which will make you seriously rich, then you need something scalable (so no point learning how to get paid for your own time), but it might help you to do a few quick jobs that just earn some cash for your time (such as Fiverr), so you can see that it's possible, before you put more time into your long-term plans.

Your criteria will narrow down the options, and that's a good thing. Start with a method which involves things you can already do well NOW. Sure you can learn stuff, but leave that to later (or outsource it).

For me I would like to build a passive income with affililate marketing and with my own product some day. I suggest starting with affiliate marketing and selling goods online. With affiliate marketing you do not have to handle anything else except reffering people to a website. Now you can take it a step futher and find a prodcut with a monthly reacurring commision. (Ive made over $500 from a $50 sale before!, now thats cool) OK now that you have that down you now need to learn how you are going to get people to that site or another words you need to learn how to generate traffic. Spend some time and learn how you want to send traffic to what ever it is you want to do. There are many stratagies to do this such as SEO, banner's, paid media, jv's. If you are looking for some fast traffic why you work on another strategy such as SEO I suggest paid media or leverging off of other webmasters who are already getting the traffic! Again, the company Best Buy did not get to where they are today by having 1 or 2 visitors come into there store a day. You aree looking for 100's of daily visitors.....
