Freelance Writing - Contently, anyone heard of them

Hi warriors

I ran into this article today :Freelance writing network Contently makes its platform free — paidContent

The site in question is Contently - https://contently.com/

It allows quality freelance writers to link up with highly respected companies such as cnn, abc, forbes and so on.

Anyone had any experience with them? ~It seems there are only 3.5k writers with them and the acceptance rate is 8% which makes this site so much more intriguing. I am guessing the work offered inside is of good quality.

    Not too sure about the details of the site. However, I can tell you that freelancing is the best way to make your first mini-fortune online. Do some thorough research on it and hop on if it's good!

    I know some people who are working on Contently too.

    Apparently, they have a very very strong client list - the kind of clients who are willing to pay a high price to have a true professional write their articles.

    As Marianne has mentioned though, they no longer allow applications from just anybody.

    signed up and accepted today. have 3 invites on there i guess. signed up for freelance work as well. willing to share the 3 invites out to the WF community. first three with email addresses in the thread will share. not sure if thats ok in this forum, if not let me know. will see what kind of $$ they pay or if i'm further accepted. lol

    Basically you give them your email then within a couple of days they reply giving you access to create a portfolio page, which is setup as a subdomain page on their site. Then once you complete your portfolio you apply to have access to their network of clients. This is the stage I am at.

    As for the rates I do not know, will let you guys know if I get that far.

    lol. we are at the same stages. I went and added my portfolio and some links and applied for their network. Will see how long the acceptance/denial process takes. They pick up your work pretty quickly in the portfolio section though. They used to charge to join but went free lately. Will see and report.

      Pretty interesting. This would imply that they have much more work available than they do writers.

    @pamon Any update on if you got accepted by Contently? I'm still waiting, seems like it's not likely to happen at this point.

      The thing I like most is that the guy who founded it seems like a legit journalist and writer himself.

      I'm totally on board.

      I wonder if you can get a by-line with some of the projects on there?
