Help Please: How to change timezone in Aweber's new broadcast template

Dear Warriors

I have been using the new Aweber broadcast templates and note that the timezone for scheduling a broadcast is set to your own timezone (i.e. for me GMT in UK).

Most of my adswaps etc require EST scheduling. Has anyone come across a way to set the timezone back to EST?

Many thanks in advance

Best regards

Luke

    Hello Luke,

I spent nearly 10 minutes in Google trying to find an answer to your question but I haven't been lead to the right direction I guess.

However, I stumbled upon this video on YouTube. I haven't finished watching it yet though. If you haven't watched this yet, perhaps, you can help me watch this one to find the answer to your question. I'm hoping that 'time zone' is tackled in this YT video though.

I'm still searching for it so I'll come back to this thread as soon as I got the right answer.

    I hope this helps, somehow.

        Hello Luke,

What specific error message do you get? It works fine from my end.
You may have to reset your browser.

Thanks a lot for the video. I was looking for this advice too. Now I can finally use them in awebers.

Now watched video which is great for creating HTML broadcasts but unfortunately does not deal with changing time on scheduler to EST. only way to do this is to calculate time difference back to EST.

    Best regards Luke

  • Hi,

When I try setting the schedule time, it seemed to not do it properly, I am very confused. On the scheduled date it says let say 9am EST (I assume EST USA), but after it has been sent it reads 9pm EST??

Any one can help me on this one? By the way, I am in Australia. Thanks

Did you try maybe asking Aweber?
    https://www.aweber.com/contact-us.htm
Because, you know, you are paying for service and maybe, you know, they'll have the correct answer for you, or they will fix the problem if one exists.

    • Just thought I'd give an update to this thread.. currently, there is no option for changing the timezone when scheduling broadcasts. It is set to your timezone by default. I have asked Aweber directly:

Aweber: [8:50:19 AM] Welcome to AWeber Live Chat. My name is Aweber staff. How can I help you today?
Me: [8:50:19 AM] how to change schedule time format to EST rather than my local time (CST)

Me: [8:53:54 AM] just wondering if you understood my question?
Aweber staff: [8:55:41 AM] I did and I am sorry this will be set to your current time.
[8:55:53 AM]Once the message is sent it will display in EST.
Me: [8:57:15 AM] So there is no way of changing the timezone, meaning I have to manually calculate if I want to schedule broadcast?
[8:58:46 AM]I think this is something that Aweber can improve on. Maybe to include the feature of selecting timezone when scheduling broadcasts..
Aweber staff: [8:58:53 AM] Yes, I am truly sorry when you set the time for a broadcast this will be in the time zone you are in.
Me: [9:00:26 AM] at least have a pop up time zone calculator for easy time difference calculation?? I am sure a lot of people have asked you this question a lot. Especially when internet businesses is a world wide thing.
Aweber staff: [9:01:35 AM] Actually most people want this to be in the time zone they are in but I will be happy to pass this on as a suggestion for you.
Me: [9:02:04 AM] Anyways, can you please forward this suggestion to the appropriate people in Aweber, so at least they might consider this feature to improve the service.
[9:02:54 AM]I say a lot of people, because it is a talked about topic in popular forums.
Aweber staff: [9:03:17 AM] No problem at all I will be happy to pass this on for you.
Me: [9:03:34 AM] But anyhow, thank you for your time. Enjoy the rest of your day!
      [9:03:42 AM]Bye!
Aweber staff: [9:05:04 AM] Thank you and have a great weekend.
[9:05:18 AM]Thank you for using AWeber Live Chat, have a great day!

Sorry to bump this thread... does anyone know if they have made any changes to this? Like it is now 2013, I thought it might be a common requested function.

Kind of strange. It has always been in EST for me and still from same location in NJ it now says CST. Not sure when to schedule the broadcast for. Guess I will just see what time it goes out.
