Website selling products infos

Hi my question is very simple,i found a website for sale that sells products..say a pet store.
This website doesnt have a blog posts etc etc .. how this kind of website get traffic,for this kind of website do i need advertise it in ther website?
how this kind of websites get traffic?

    They can get traffic with different methods, maybe Yahoo Answers, PPC, Social Media, etc.

    Just because the website doesn't have a blog doesn't mean that it can't get traffic from the search engines you just need to optimise a website slightly differently then you would do a blog.

    E-commerce search engine optimisation can be slightly more difficult than your standard search engine optimisation for a blog

    That's why its recommended that newbie start out with small niche blogs rather than e-commerce stores because if you have no experience in seo you will struggle with the optimisation of an e-commerce store

      so a ecommerce store has a optimization like a little blog website..but the optimization is not like the traditional optimization of a blog..it follows other criterias..so while with a little blog affiliate store selling one affiliate product you need to have a high conversion and lot lot of visits ..with a ecommerce store may be you make money also with 1000 visits a month ...
      I want a ecoomerce store...i ran 5 little blog websites as affiliate and i did not make any money!

        There are are various way to drive traffic to an online store or ecommerce site. You can create videos about your products, submit content to article directories and include a link back to your site, and get your business listed in niche directories. Press release submission and social media marketing are great sources of traffic too.

      i started with little blog websites ...i had five noone gave me a cent ..so i know a bit about SEO and exact searches and all that stuff ,competition,page rank..I just would like to sell drop shipping products with a catalog so same principles apply to to a e-commerce website same principles as the little blog with posts website?

    good content will get traffic from google. Backlinking will increase the traffic, if done well, as well as getting some direct traffic. You can also pay for traffic using AdWords, paying for ads or banners or guest posts on other sites, etc. there are lots of ways
