Article Marketing For Dummies

Hi everyone,

I know a lot of questions get asked on article marketing, so sorry for not being original!

I was hoping someone could share a really simple series of steps about what to do with an article. Right now I just write them and submit them to EZA, and i feel like I'm missing a lot of opportunities.

So what should I be doing?

Like:

Step 1, post to your blog
Step 2, 3 days later submit to EZA
Step 3, 2 days later bookmark the article using "X" software/service

What are the basic steps I should be taking to get the most out of my articles?

I've only just started submitting to multiple directories. But I'm making sure that I only o it with articles already approved by EZA.

Test different strategies and see which works the best for you. There's no one 'best' way to use your articles.

Ezine articles if i remember correctly like you to submit to them first and wont allow your article if it's already been published somewhere else.
They don't mind you submitting to your blog first. This is a tweet from Ezinearticles: "Q: Should I submit my newest articles to my Blog or EzineArticles 1st? A: Whichever gives you the highest impact in terms of traffic."

      This is False...

You should ALWAYS submit your content to your own site first.. EzineArticles will NOT reject it if they find it on your property.. they may check in the search engines for it... if they find it on your own property, it's fine.

A lot of things in theory should work, they often realistically don't. If what you said below did happen you might get away with it for a while until Ezinearticles catches on and nukes you.

          Either way just bad karma....

I could own the second largest article directory's on the internet and just submit every single article on it (because my terms say they are now mine) and they should in theory all get accepted.

Alex, What do you want those articles to do for you? Sorry but I'm stumped. If you're using them for SEO and to get people to your website then along with EZA get a list of all the other article sites and post them. What is the subject of your articles? You don't have site in your signature so I'm not sure what your subject is. I'm glad to help you if I can.

If you can prove that it's YOUR article, there is no problem with that.

I submit to EZA and a handful of directories at the same time and after an article has been on one of my sites first. As EZA are usually the last to check articles, they are already live on the other directories for several days and that has never made any difference to them accepting articles.

    HI Alex..

This question popped up a while back.. I hope you don't mind me doing a copy and paste of a blog post of mine that came as a result of one of my subscribers asking this question.. here was my response to this question:

Here's what I do with each and every article I create:

Step 1: Publish it on my own website/property first <- this is essential, the content is YOURS.. do NOT give it to a directory first. Putting your content first on a glorified made for adsense site like a directory is marketing suicide, put it on your website first.

Step 2: Tweak it a little and publish it to Ezine Articles. I honestly don't tweak it that much but I like to anyway just so that it has some added flavour for distribution. Your goal with ezine is to get other directories to re-publish it too.

Step 3: Tweak and expand, using each of the main points for a squidoo module on a lens and build a squidoo lens around it. (hence my hundreds of lenses that turn profit for me). Squidoo lenses can be quick and highly profitable, once you get into the swing of creating them.

Step 4: Mass publish it wherever you like, use iSnare if you wish.. it's a good service..

This has served me well now for years, and I can't even write articles that well.

Anything you hear about "duplicate content" rules is complete crap in most cases.

The ONLY time duplicate content is an issue is when you have duplicates of the same content on a single domain.. like two pages that are mirroring each other on one domain.

This is just what I do in my business, I'm not saying this is the only way to use content, but this is how I use ALL of my content.

The reason I say tweak in any places above is not really for the content, more for the structure.. I wouldn't publish content at squidoo, with the same structure that I would at EzineArticles.. you can give it extra spice at other places...

Take this for what it's worth, but I know it works for me like this.

    Peace

Jay, thanks a lot for that! That was exactly the kind of thing I was looking for.

Now I need to go and do some homework on Squidoo, which I've neglected for the 2 years I've been marketing online

    1. Write articles and submit them to:

    Squidoo
    Ezine Articles
    Go Articles

(Make sure you re-write each and every one)

    2. Submit them to article directories

    3. Find 2-3 forums relevant to your nice and put links in your signatures to your articles.

    4. Social bookmark/network with:

    Digg
    StumbleUpon
    Furl
    Mixx
    Reddit

There's more I just can't think of every single thing right now lol

I highly suggest going to Free Ebooks .net (no spaces) and reading all of their free marketing, SEO, and promotion guides. You can even paraphrase their stuff and make those articles, too.
