Ranking high but not showing anywhere

Hey Guys I have I need some help here. For the past few month I have been implementing Seo strategies, and been checking tools such as the one below

Search Engine Rankings - FREE!

To find out if I get a High position under specific keywords. Unfortunately till today I have not noticed anything under Google for Keyword "IT outsourcing provider."
Google always forwards me to google.ca because I'm in Canada. I decided to go to google.com and to my shocking surprise I'm ranked Number 2 under that Keyword. So I'm all excited and everything, but I'm a bit weirded out by the fact, that not one of the tools show my new high ranking and I don't really see the traffic. I also don't understand why .ca results be so different then .com

Could you please shed some lights on what going on?
BTW my site is distantjob.com and the keyword again is IT outsourcing provider

I actually don't see your site for that keyword, but it's not unusual for rankings to fluctuate. I think the reason you are not seeing traffic is that no one searches on that keyword? Google adwords tool shows only 140 searches a month.

"IT outsourcing provider" has 6m results on Google, it's a very saturated keyword with very little searches per day. I suggest finding a new keyword if possible.

actually I also got outsourcing provider number 6 that's why I'm going after that. So the traffic is clear, but why no tool sees the results under that keyword, and why Cash cow does no see my keyword?

      Hi Sharon,

To help you out, I have done a little bit of analysis on your website and made some comments below. I hope the information helps you in some way.

      3 Characteristics of Good Keywords

I find the best keywords to target have 3 common characteristics - high traffic, low competition, high commercial value. Your chosen market is a competitive one, and to get all 3 characteristics is difficult, but some suggestions could be "IT Outsourcing", "Software Outsourcing", "Outsourcing Services" (unfortunately "IT Outsourcing Provider" doesn't have the high traffic to make it worthwhile).

There will be high competition with these keywords, but the suggestions below may still help you rank higher in Google.

You may also want to stop using the tools you have been using to check your ranking. I used the 'Google Global Firefox Extension' and found your website at #657 in the USA, and #116 in Canada for your keyword phrase.

      SEO
Whichever keyword phrase(s) you decide to pursue, you need to make your site ultra-ultra targetted towards it. Include the phrase in your home page title, and in the 'keyword' and 'description' meta tags. Also include it in the <h1> header tag for the page.

Within your blog, you should create unique articles that target these keyword phrases. Again, include the keyword phrase in the title, keyword and description meta tags. Also include it in <h1> header tag and URL for the article.

      Backlinks
Your site has approx 320 domain backlinks, and 220 of these point to the home page.

The bad news is that to rank in this market you are going to need thousands of backlinks...and not just any backlinks.

You need to make sure the majority of the backlinks have the anchor text set to your keyword phrase. At present most of your incoming backlinks have the anchor text set to 'job recruitment agency' which isn't doing you much good if that's not what you are targeting.

There are many ways to get the backlinks you need, but it will take time and probably some money.

My recommendation would be to use an article submission service like the one I use (see signature). It will send out unique versions of every article you write to hundreds of article directories. You can also set it up to drip feed the submissions so you don't get too many links too fast.

Since the articles are unique, you end up getting more backlinks that count for each article you submit. It's not unusual to receive 100+ backlinks from 1 article. Fantastic!

You should also implement other ways to get backlinks - directory submissions, blog and forum commenting, etc etc etc...

I hope this was informative, and I wish you the best of luck. It will take time and probably some money, but should improve your ranking and traffic volumes considerably.

Your site looks great, and I like the added touch of the video...well done!
