The only free two ways to get free organic traffic. You will find a lot of information on this forum. Just use the search function above. This question has been asked so many times.

SEO nowadays is not free anymore though, as to get decent rankings you will either need to spend loads of time, use some software or hire someone on fiverr to do it. Esp after Penguin.

But youtube would be my idea.

The best free traffic would be from youtube as it's easier for ranking purposes as there are not so many restrictions as trying to do the SEO Google dance. Im at the moment changing my article list to youtube videos for better ranking and free traffic.

Start a blog - If you have time then create a blog and create content for your blog. Don`t get too hung up on your blog though as its something which will be built over time but post regular and in time it will start to attract plenty of free traffic

Forums - forums will help you to attract plenty of free traffic as log as you are active and provide plenty of helpful info

Videos - creating maybe 1 video every couple of days will help to builf your free traffic and you can even distribute your videos using tools so you get even more exposure and traffic

Using these 4 traffic methods will get you results

Ok there not groundbreaking but they work and if you link all of your social accounts with your youtube channel, article account and blog then all of your content will get shared on all social platforms as long as you have set up your social accounts ie twitter, fb, goog+1

Free traffic methods do take time but once you get going and build momentum it gets much easier and some steady traffic will start to flow

Yeap Youtube, Twitter, Facebook are good free ways to get traffic, if you can get some quality backlinks to your sites and get higher up in the google ranking that helps as well.

It's turning into my #1 form of traffic for everything that I've been doing.

Here's a quick guide on how to get started.

1. Find a Niche (use Facebook advertising to see what markets have audiences)
2. Create a Page (use a name that is likeable, something that will get people to like it)
3. Share photos, status's, and polls regularly or even schedule out things.
4. Communicate on other large pages, don't spam them with your link, just be apart of them.
5. Aim at getting people to like your page, give them a reason.
6. If you have to, pay for advertising, first time advertisers get a $50 coupon on Facebook Marketing I believe.

Blog commenting generates a lot of quality traffic if you can dedicate you time to doing that. But you will need to be careful not to spam blogger. Example: you don't just go there a comment on an article or post you never read by writing something like "great post" and disappear.
Even if the webmaster ends up publishing your post, people who read it will never come to your site because they believe you will never provide any value.
You also use the same strategy in forum marketing.

The point is: if you provide value in your comments, people will always want to know you more. They will follow your link to see what more benefits or value they could get from you.

You can get 'free traffic' from mobile applications! Yes there is a cost in getting this started, but once you get it going you can tap into an unlimited amount of niches and upwards of 100K targeted traffic a month to all of your different offers.

You need a good overall off-site SEO strategy, which creates a very wide variety of different types of backlinks (some of which will bring direct traffic too). There's plenty of good info on this forum about doing that, but beware because there is also a lot of bad information, that will tell you to build only one type of backlink, or get vast quantities of low quality backlinks etc.

IMO, depending on what niche you are in, forum marketing and guest blogging would probably fit the bill.

Both strategies are super targeted and with a combination of email signatures, banner ads on those forums and quality posts with a guest post, you should be getting some decent traffic to your offer.

In my opinion the best way to get quality "Free" traffic is creating your own linkedin group. Doing this properly will get you targeted leads to visit your site/affiliate sites and you can email them on a weekly basis. It's a strategy not a lot of IMers talk about, but it's probably the best secret out there. Enjoy!

I depends on a few different factors the age of your website, how hard you are prepared to work or how deep your pockets are.

If you have a new website take your time write or curate quality content and the share it with all the social media networks and web 2 sites.

If your website is a bit older you could buy links but beware as you could do more harm than good.

The last option is to outsource your link building to a reputable seo company - this is where the deep pockets are needed.

If you are looking for cheap traffic, I would recommend going for 2nd tier PPC.

I have been getting tons of great traffic with JV's I find it the best. It's hard to explain it to the JV partner but once they understand how it's free, quality and you not only get traffic and optin but paid to get it, then they want to do it. Plus it's the only traffic you will ever need and it's not only free but supper easy to do once you understand the concept.

One more benefit is that less then 0.1% will ever do it the reason I know is it's been almost a decade and most people will never do it so you will have no competition for that traffic.

SEO is no good for those of us looking to get fast result. Like newbie affiliates.

Solo ads: Get your offer or squeeze page sent to someone's list for a small fee.

Forums: There are more than the warrior forum and they work the same way. You must have a sig that is attractive and you MUST post USEFUL comments to see any real result.

Youtube: This one is tricky as there are many ways to get your videos ranked quickly.

Guest blogging: simple! Head over to a high ranking blog in your niche and start posting comments everyday. Again they must be of value to the people reading it or.... again you will get nothing.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) - Don't cringe away from this one. Search Engine Optimization is NOT that hard, but it needs time and is well worth it. All you need is a blog and about 30mins a day for some good keyword optimized copywriting. You can easily rank in a few weeks for long tail (3-4 words long) keywords with none to a few backlinks.

Twitter. I was a huge Twitter skeptic BUT how wrong I was! You can generate A LOT of free traffic with Twitter. You just need to know how. Once you write a blog post you can tweet about it and others looking for related information will find you. You want to target your "audience" so if you use keywords like "work from home," "start a home business" etc., you can get targeted traffic to your blog.

Article Marketing. Almost all online marketers use article marketing to get thousands of visits. Write an article a day and submit it to literally hundreds of article directories. When interested people read these articles they see you as an "expert" in this field. They start to TRUST you and you WANT that. You get direct free traffic to your blog or site and these also serve as backlinks so you get more SEO value at the same time. It is really a win-win for you from all angles.
There are hundreds of ways to generate free traffic. My only advice is to please go ahead and TRY THEM. Start with one and move one. I know it's really easy to get overwhelmed but do it anyway. You learn for sure, only by doing.

Youtube , Video and Social Media seem higher conversion rate in affiliate marketing now because it provide a stronger interaction, better persuasive, strong call to action , gain better interest compare to those SEO and article writing traffic.

If you want free/cheap traffic, the best you can do is to find keywords with very little competition, but that have a good amount of searches and have economic potential.

Then you can do anything with this keyword and rank pretty fast.

You can create a website about it, you can create a blog post about it, you can create a YouTube video about it, or even you can create a press release about it.

Then build some backlinks to it until it gets ranked!

There are some great ideas here, my tip wold be to find 2 or 3 traffic generating strategies and then concentrate on doing those until you generate good traffic. Try blog commenting, Facebook and forums.

You can Use Google Adwords, Blog Commenting, Social Media Bookmarks and Article Submissions.
Google Adwords would make a lot of sense if you need instant increase in your traffic but it's not free/cheap traffic as you desire. So go for other things.

No such thing as free traffic. Even if I do it myself all the tools I use like computer, scrapebox, proxy goblin, internet connection, etc. aren't free. And my time? If anybody thinks there time is free has a serious self confidence issue. I consider my time to be the most valuable thing that I own, probably because I have so little of it left over to screw off once work is done. Here it is Friday night and instead of going out with my buddies I'm here in front of my computer and it's 3:19 in the morning. I love my job.

I agree that it's very hard to get "quality" free traffic. The trick is getting that traffic to convert to sales and so many of those traffic services won't do that for you. I've written some articles and submitted them to article directories as well that have gotten some great traffic, unfortunately not one sale resulted from my efforts.

I think if you have a niche related item, you could join some forums in that niche and start discussions and conversations and make a great signature line and you might get some quality traffic that way. It comes down to testing and measuring your results. Also, make sure you use Google Analytics so you know what is working and what is not. Good luck to you!

What I have observed that traffic from search engines from any targeted keyword is really very valuable to your site..

Apart from SEO, you can also get targeted visitors from forums and article directories.

Try contacting online publications relevant to your content or sign up to google analytics and check what keywords are the most searched for on Google; try including these words on your site and this works as a great tool for SEO.. and free

You can use forums like this, to gain traffic. Its best to use a signature so your website or product is attached to all your posts and comments (i think i got 3 new leads in just a few hours with one post).

Create a page on Facebook. this helped an associate of mine build his downline in a program called Jss tripler, to 100 a week and then more, he's about to quit his job and move to the south of France. Facebook is a winner if done the right way, some people just use it to spam people, which ruins it for the serious marketers. Be careful if you buy traffic from Facebook as it can be costly. It drives thousands of people to your site, but if they don't sign up or buy something youv'e wasted your money, i fell into this trap.
Try adding a"LIKE" button and "TWEET THIS" button to your site, because when liked the friends of that person can see whats been liked and may check out your site too, and so on.

Ive created a few blogs, these generated a bit of traffic and created backlinks to my site, which seemed to help my ranking, hasn't really worked out for me this method but im told it does work.

Traffic exchanges can be good if you have time to waste, you get one visitor for every website you visit, but to get some decent traffic or leads for your list i found you need to surf at least 500-1000 sites a day. You can pay for traffic with these but theres always a risk your not getting the targeted traffic you need, and that the hits are not unique, i.e. the same 50 people are visiting your site 10 times but it looks like you've had 500 visitors.

solo ad sites like listjoe, yourezlist, reactive ads will give you free advertising in emails however they are basically spam and no one really looks at them (i know i don't). eleaver provides very cheap advertising but i recently ran a test for $20 got 300 clicks and 0 leads. Much better to get a quality paid solo ad that has a good relationship with there list. Other than that if you can seo like a champ that's your options for free traffic unless you make something go viral. There is no real free instant traffic thats easy to obtain. If it was, everyone would be doing it.

Why you don't use facebook? create fanpage, then add an event. I know a trick about event. If your event has 5,000 people who are invited, when you change the time of event maybe 30 minutes later, all of people who are invited will receive a notification from facebook about time change!

YouTube is one of the easiest and quickest ways to get targeted traffi. Press releases are good too

Here's where I find my targeted audience hanging out nowadays:

2. Niche networks

Two of my favorite methods, which are going stronger and stronger this year:
1. Article syndication
2. Press releases

Youtube is the easiest. Just upload and let the traffic roll in.

Aside from article syndication, you can generate more traffic if you also use video syndication. There are tools out there that will let you upload your videos to different sites, one such example is OneLoad.com - this is the free version of TubeMogul.

If you want to do blog, article and video syndication, there's Traffic Geyser and for content syndication there's Synnd.com

You can do SEO but if you are brand new to it, you will probably need to invest a few months of your time to get any results worth mentioning.

You can start out with video marketing, article marketing or both. If you have a hosting and can afford to purchase domains, purchase one and create a landing page for an product and promote it as an affiliate. Make sure there's a strong call to action on the page and that's it's clearly visible what the page is about and how your visitors can buy it.

The thing with many beginners is, they spend way too much time making sure everything is perfect while in fact they are wasting their valuable time. The outcome is a site that has a great design, is well-structured, but it lacks visibility of your offer/affiliate link and therefore the conversion rates and CTRs suck.

You can also create a squeeze page for the only purpose of building a list. The funnel is a little different there, it goes like:

1. Finding a good traffic source to get targeted traffic to your SP
2. Optimizing the SP properly to get the highest opt-in rates
3. Making sure you are providing a ton of value to your subscribers and you are giving away information that they were truly after
4. Building a strong relationship with your list and staying in the value-providing mode
5. Offering something they will find useful and that you know will really benefit them while making money along the way.

That's the process. Always make sure to provide value. Don't pursue the money solely.

You havge to create value and then the traffic will come. Start a blog, podcast or anything that provides value to your audience first, then try to sell to them what they want and need. You can't go wrong with that kind of approach.

social networking sites are also a way to get traffic for free specially on twitter and facebook. the traffic you get from there can easily surpass the traffic from Google and the other search engines. It is true that building a large network of targeted followers on twitter and supporters on fb takes a lot of time and effort but generally the result is worth.

Take really good notes and concentrate on a strategy you feel comfortable with given your own unique situation. Don't try to do everything at once, or else you'll get mediocre results. Just focus on 1 or 2 strategies...knowing that you gotta work at it continuously to see good results.

Social networking pages, classified listings, search engine add urls, ppc, traffic exchanges.

If you have some money to spare you can try building your list with solo ads, if you have a product you can find Joint Venture partners that can promote for you. Like they said earlier there is not such thing as free traffic, you are going to pay some way or another. However, if you have time to spare find forums and communities on your niche and start providing value. Add your squeeze page on the signature link. Start following people on your niche on Twitter and add them as friends on Facebook. On social media and communities you need to provide value first, then after providing value you can promote your squeeze page.

Make a new blog post ideally everyday (or as much as possible), and then submit each post to pingler.com,socialmonkee.com,and also hootsuite.com (the last one submits to all your social sites at once like linkedin,fb,twitter,google plus, etc). These all have great free versions, with potential upgrades if you want. You'll see some traffic to your blog grow if your content is good.

Submitting your articles to the TOP articles directories (PR5 or higher),Forum Marketing,Guest Blogging,etc...

Another great tip for earning traffic to your website or blog is to use Squidoo to get quality backlinks! By putting your link in a squidoo lens, you will then have a good chance of SEO going towards your blog/website. And if your to busy to do the work for that, outsource it! And have others promote your Squidoo lenses

Agree with most post above, If you are wanting traffic to build your list. I highly suggest Giveaways/Mini Giveaways. Insane amount of leads from those. Otherwise yes, SEO article marketing youtube/twitter/facebook marketing, use EVERY opportunity you have to promote your website.

Lots of ways to get traffic, among them : using free classified ads on Backpage, CL, OLX, and others.

Also, guest posts on other high traffic blogs. If you are not a good writer, then find a good writer on Fiverr (and there are a few there who are very good) and have them write your articles, then use those to submit as guest posts on other blogs.

Also, build up your own traffic sources on Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, and other social sites. I even have 9,000 contacts on Tagged dot com who I can send to my blogs.

Press releases are good too, but only if you can write good ones and get good distribution. Fiverr also has some good Press Release gigs.

Paid ads too. Banner ads on BuySellAds and others. Ezine Ads and Solo Ads. I have had some luck with 2Bucks An Ad

Yes I agree with all the answers, social etc.. now here's the thing, you should use Fiverr(dot)com and start with $15 and click on 'Social Marketing' and each $5 will get you usually 10,000+ twitter tweets, Youtube views, Facebook members or whatever other social traffic you want. This is a great way to get a huge traffic boost now.

Once traffic and profit start coming in.. spend $15 a day on fiverr for traffic and you will see even more results. Be careful on which gigs you pick (read the testimonials). This is not only a great way to start getting traffic but an ongoing way to get traffic for even more advanced internet marketers.

They also have every kind of website submission you can think of like..
social bookmarking, indexing, article submission, etc...

Pay for a Tweet is an awesome viral marketing tool. If used correctly it is a great free method of getting traffic to your website or promoting a product.

EX- Offer a free download like an eBook and setup pay for tweet so that they will have to either tweet it or post it on Facebook to download it.

Forget SEO unless you have mountains of time or cash to pay people to get you ranking, look towards the best trafficked sites in your market and come up with a strategy to get yourself featured on them, this will be so much easier than trying to beat them with SEO believe me!

I found twitter is a great way to get traffic to your site. Discover your niche, find out what hashtags are trending in your niche, post frequent tweets using hashtags that are converting likes and retweets.

I would focus on Youtube marketing (creating videos and ranking) and then social media marketing.

For traffic do social media marketing and know about the interest and hobbies of your audience. Post quality content in that and generate more traffic to your website.
