Congratulations on your money! I am having problems with my Adsense not making any money for me. I am in the same boat as you, 4 mo old website 60 visits per day, but I think my Adsense may be placed wrong. Not making anything with it.

Congrats. Just seems like a matter of scaling up and drawing in repeats. Do you have a mail list? For example: jetpack allows people to subscribe and get emails when posts are made. Additionally, depending on the forum you are using you can easily set up a mailing list and send weekly updates highlighting certain posts.

Thanks for the replies!

So i guess i will keep chugging along and try to increase traffic. I also assuming that time will help, the older the site the easier the ranking and the more exposure? And yes i will eventually be using the forum to create a mail list in the future. So i get about 1-2 ad clicks a day (10-20 cents) what can i expect within the next year or 2? Will it be a slow gradual increase or do you guys think i can pump this to a few dollars a day withing a few months?

PS. Im using a PPC ad network specific to my cannabis niche. I tried affiliate ads with no luck, i dont think i have enough traffic for affiliate ads yet.

To the OP,
Its hard to make a significant income from Adsense alone unless you have a lot of traffic. Try changing ad location, color etc. Experiment.
Also, if you have some money to invest, buy some solo ads. You will get targeted traffic. Get them on your list and sell affiliate products to them.

Adsense is a joke.

You would make a lot more selling your ad space for very targeted ads.

The more high volume targeted visitors you have the more you will make.

If Adsense cant find a targeted ad for you they will just put anything up to fill your ad space.
Now how is that going to help you? Car insurance is the most popular I see for filling in ads.

People that make a lot from Adsense have around 10,000 visitors a day.
If you sell your ad space to the right people, you could make the same amount with half the visitors.

Here are some actual numbers I just pulled of my account. These ads are mostly in the MMORPG niche. Notice the Rpm of $5.08. Unless you have very high cpc you might expect to make similar.

With the small amount of traffic you have you really can't expect much.

impressions - 97,318
clicks - 2,597
CTR - 2.67%
cpc - $0.19
Rpm - $5.08
earnings - $494.00

Try to diversify your profits, instead of focusing on 'more-clicks', focus on creating top-notch content that is so polished that your viewers are literally ready to sign up to your e-mail list or buy one of your products, all without incentives.

I can guarantee you that the more creativity and original content you put into your site will inevitably cause all of your viewers to be more qualified leads (even when clicking ads, some advertisers pay on a conversion based model instead of standard cpc, so you might only earn pennies per click but then $5 all at once because someone purchased a product through that click).

Turning your traffic into buyer traffic is the real key, whether they buy your products or your advertisers products - you make more money.

I understand exactly what you guys are getting at with the affiliate products, thing is i tried using them already and didnt get one sale, so i was getting ancy and decided i wanted to see some money now and put up PPC ads. I think im going to let the PPC run for a bit and get a few payouts and then eventualy try the affiliate ads again, and yes i will experiment with different products and so on. What do you guys think??

And for the issue of unique content, that's pretty much already my main focus and it seems to be paying off. My niche is in something im very knowledgeable in, and there's only 2 other websites that are similar to mine, in terms of the unique twist i have put on the site.

You probably cannot count on AdSense alone for a revenue. You might need to think of another idea, such as maybe some kind of product or service you would offer. You might also want to sell other people's products.

traffic is all you need but to maintain the traffic and improve bounce rates go for quality posts/informatiin because the better the quality content more will be the visitors.
after you are sure about the content quality, go build some links and there you have it..you will find better ad clicks

If you go back to the affiliate products, keep an eye on your traffic stats.

Find where the best targeted traffic is coming from and focus on that.

Dig deep into it. To start I would find that one person that is looking for your product. Make a relationship with that one person. Then spread your wings a little and find 3, then 7, then 15 and so on.

Once I started looking at it like this I had my first sale in no time. People are people and saw them as a friend not money. Its kinda of like hand picking your traffic/friends.

Are you putting up fresh content on your site weekly? this builds more traffic. google likes to see fresh content. Plus continue to build good quality and diversified links.

Ad positioning is very important, we all tend to get "Ad blindness" so try different positions.

Are you ranking at all on any of your chosen keywords?

I've never had luck with adsense. I always seem to do something wrong that they dont like somewhere down the road. I would recommend trying to capture the traffic you already get, that way as the site grows your not fighting to keep the other members your just letting it snowball. I would also say keep your adsense ad but maybe through in an affiliate banner in there and move around every couple of days to see if you you can increase ctr.

Are you targeting keywords or just blogging and backlinking? You need to have each post targeting a few keywords to make sure you are leveraging your linking in the most beneficial way.
