How many products would you promote on a blog?

I currently have a blog where I only promote one product and CTR is 35%.

I am planning my next site and really do not know if to follow the same format by promoting just "one" product again.

For example:

If it was a site about natural health, would it be better to focus on one particular niche only offering one product or go for a more authority site/broader niche where you have categories for say 3 or 4 different ailments and perhaps then promote a product for each one. I guess my visitors will not get confussed with different products as they will probably only land on an article page talking about that topic anyway linking to that particular product.

I think I have had success with my first blog because I know what my customers want and that is the product they see and no other  but I would also like to scale things up abit on my next site. Just abit unsure..

Any comments on this

Thanks

Generally on each of my sites I tend to promote only 1 product.2 at the absolute most. I think it's better to focus on promoting one product on one site otherwise your visitor will get too overwhelmed and end up purchasing nothing

If you're working in a profitable niche, there's no reason to have a site just promoting one product. Searchers will come to the relevant page based on what they are searching for. It doesn't matter whether it's an article or product review. Also, if you do list building, which you should be, it makes no sense to have people in the same niche that could benefit from a variety of products to be separated. Finally, with larger sites, it becomes easier over time to outrank your competition.

If you put too much advertising on your blog it becomes a splog, and that's bad.

Concentrate on the content but by all means place relavent adverts in the sidebar or footer of the posts. Also make sure that you have a good strong opt-in form to generate leads, then you can follow-up with email for promotions.
