Does youtube have a major advantage over other sites?
Consider this ok.
I worked on a fan page,
I worked on a blog,
I worked on some forums.
THEN I worked on youtube.
When I stop working on my fan page or blog or the forums... my traffic drops relatively fast.
On youtube, it NEVER goes down. My hops always keep coming in at a nice consistent rate. Even my videos that don't do so well with traffic, that traffic never seems to go away. It will slowly drip in day after day REGARDLESS of if I'm even promoting the video. Then one of my better videos ALWAYS seems to bring in an avg of 300 visitors a day.
This is from DOING NOTHING but UPLOADING AN AFFILIATE VIDEO and dropping about 5 internal links afterwards (within youtube itself on other relevant videos). Probably took me about 20-30 minutes to set up. My blog on the other hand took about 1 hour just to write every 1 page of it. I probaly have about 8 pages on it right now. So A LOT more time for not even a fraction of the amount of traffic. Today I think I got 4 hops from that blog when I get 10xs that amount from just ONE youtube video.
Youtube honestly seems like less work for more exposure AND for a longer period of time too.
So I don't know about you guys, but this week I'm scaling up my youtube promotions A LOT. If I can get a few sales from 6 videos, and traffic just keeps coming in. That tells me I need to invest A LOT more time learning youtube the "right way"... whatever that is.
I'm curious if other youtube addicts have found their experiences to be similar? I mean is it just me or does youtube have a major advantage in regards to consistent traffic?
Thanks - Red
