Is Page Rank Going Crazy?

I've just opened my forums this morning to post to them, to find one which is a members only forum and isn't even linked to the outside world has a page rank of one, another which until yesterday has always shown as not indexed has PR2. A quick check of my sites, and one which the day before yesterday was PR2, is now showing as not indexed!

What gives kids?

Maybe G is started to crawl your site. They have so may servers and maybe the server when you check your site is their new server. Just wait for a few hours.

I started a new site last month, after the big page rank update. And it already has a page rank of 2 and I have only 2 external links. It is updated 2 to 3 times a week and are informative, unique posts. I dunno, Google is going wild. I like it because it's doing me good.

I have a site around 6 months old, built on a subdomain, no backlinks, no promotion and it got a PR3 yesterday.

          Something strange about that methinks.

This happens all the time similar to the positioning that happens to rankings, funny thing what you see is not what Google is actually giving you for a Page Rank

Can't say I have ever seen it happen before.

I have software that checks daily to see how many pages are indexed, backlinks and page rank. I mean page rank not where a page ranks in the SERPS as I monitor those seperately.

I see daily fluctuations on number of indexed pages, occasional fluctuation on number of backlinks (saw some over the weekend) and change in page rank value when they do an update every 3 months or so. In between page rank updates page rank always stays the same.

Incorrect, PageRank is a reflecion of the popularity of the page due to the quantity of backlinks pointing to it, it has nothing to do with keywords or content.
