Why Clickbank?

If I want to sell an e-book, is the benefit of using Clickbank the power of leveraging affiliates to help promote my product?

    Yes, I believe using clickbank is the only way to go.
    Imagine having lots of hungry affiliates ready to sell your product.

      Not true.

      Putting your product on Clickbank will not magically result in lots of affiliates promoting it. On the flip side, you can manage your own affiliate program and have lots of hungry affiliates. Lots of people do.

      Clickbank is convenient but expensive. If your product is not going to rank well in their Marketplace, there are many better options.

          I would like to create a product to promote on Clickbank in the future. Clickbank seems like a great way to make some extra money with the number of affiliates it has looking for products to promote.

          Because you can easily attract affiliate marketers to be your affiliate.
          Be sure to add your affiliate page so that affiliate marketers can just copy and paste your promotional materials.

          Clickbank is going to take about 8% of your revenue in fees. You're paying for thier network.

          If you're not going to get lots of affiliates by ranking well in their marketplace, you're better off managing your own program or going with a cheaper network. There are lots of other options which have been discussed over and over on this forum. Here's a few:

          Cheaper networks:
          - Shareasale.com
          - Clixgalore.com
          - Paydotcom, etc

          Manage your own:
          - RAP software
          - 1shoppingcart
          - Amember, etc

              Hi guys,

              I tried clickbank about a year & a half ago, one problem was everything is in Dollars which can put European buyers off.

              But my main problem was that my products were lost in the thousands of offerings, the service is great because so much is taken care of but certain people seem to dominate.

              Does anyone have advice regarding making it more effective?

              Or,

              Is clickbank just a good service that requires one to promote that you are there?

              You see, I joined because I thought they would bring me sales but I found that it was the other way around!

              any ideas?

                  Been thinking about ClickBank myself for some products, but let me get this streight: Say I offer a product for $29.97 and 75% commission. That means I pay affiliates $22.48 per sale. Then lets say I pay ClickBank another 8% or $2.40. So I net about $5.09 per sale after all of this.

                  Hardly worth it unless I do massive sales volume.....

                    1099s, and all that other fun crap.

                      Hi Jennifer,

                      I do agree it's a good service - I wish they would do a european version. I suppose it's best to see them as one option rather than the be-all-and-end-all.

                      I have listed the other services like this in my research files to compare the services and I do also like to use an instant payment processor like Paypal as it's good for cashflow.

                      Interesting point about building the 'critical mass' so that you reach an attractive price point for all concerned..,

                So do you mean that the volume of your sales (I presume still going through CB at the lower price?) helps with visibilty?

                Therefore you appear more often in CB searches - or have I got it totally wrong?

        I get tired of reading about the "army of affiliates" there. Unless you work to recruit them or sell enough of your own product so that it ranks highly in the marketplace, you'll find that army is off fighting someone else's war.
