Whats the Deal with Ebay Partner Network Anymore?

I used to do pretty well with Ebay's affiliate program. The best days were when they offered 12 bucks for someone starting an account, but those days have been replaced with getting paid for clicks to the website.

I did pretty well when the first changed over to clicks, but now I check my account and I've had 177 clicks this month with $0 in earnings. Last month I had 272 clicks with $0 earnings.

what's the deal? Is anyone making anything with the Ebay Partner network anymore? Or have they pretty much killed off paying anything for clicks anymore.

  • When I joined they were offering $25 for a confirmed registration.

I seldom look at my ePN stats but here's month to date: 92 clicks, 13 cent EPC, $11.31 earnings. Now you know why I never look. It certainly doesn't inspire me to create more ePN properties.

What should I say? People are getting less interested in Ebay? Is it really possible? Cause some of my friends are still rocking with eBay. Yes, there are some sudden decrease in their earning but ultimately, its kind of OK for them.

I used to make some decent coin from Ebay Partner Network, now I'm lucky if I make $2 a month.

I stopped using EPN a few years ago when they switched how they paid.

I noticed an immediate drop in income and at the time, (for my mini-sites) it made more sense to use AdSense or specific affiliate banners than EPN.

As far as an ecommerce venue, eBay has lost ground to Amazon, but they are still rockin and some people (who know what they're doing) are still making great money on eBay.

I don't use Ebay for a long time. Its time to move on. But I heard it still works for those who knows how to ... but they aren't gonna share their secret.

I am exactly the same. Across my sites I used to have about 10 BIN/BIDS a day earning about £30-£50 month, now for some reason although I am still getting the clicks but the BIN/BIDS have totally stopped - just 2 over the past month or so. Why ?

EPN has its issues, especially with transparency. But the biggest problem is Google nuking your sites when it sees eBay affiliate links.

eBay converts like crazy. If you have clicks without sales you likely are getting bot clicks and need to be aggressive in locking them out of your site.

I do alright with EPN by linking Youtube videos to my own pages with Ebay results. This traffic isn't dependant on Google (directly).

I use Ebay's RSS for a keyword search, then add the RSS to a "static" html page that updates 2-4 times a day.

But as Brian posted, the key with EPN is you have to send them some buyers. Just sending them clicks isn't enough.

The worst part with EPN is that they stop paying commissions for clicks if they are not seeing any purchases. That could be a bot problem, but I use Bot Trap on my sites, which captures and blocks most bots.

I can lead a horse to water...

I also used to make good money with eBay, but have pretty much abandoned them now.
