Scriptlance Sold To Freelancer!

8 replies
If I go to scriptlance.com, it is redirected to freelancer.com where I can see the following message at the top:

"Scriptlance has been acquired by Freelancer.com"

Can anyone tell how much scriptlance was sold for?

    People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.

    Indeed it had been sold for some good money, but what would be the interested of freelancer to buy such a website. From what i read on the reviews on alexa.com scriptlance is a scam website.

    A lot of big properties changing hands these days. Consolidation in the freelance market was to be expected. Especially with a poor economy, I'm sure the number of active projects has declined to some degree.

    I never knew them to be a scam, but not always a pleasure, but thats freelancing.

    I used it for several projects and there were no problems and I sure wouldnt say it was a scam. There are always going to be freelancers that under deliver. I didn't love how it was run, but got to hand it to them, they got up an running and had a good business early, now they have been paid, though no idea of price of course.

    Yes, I was in the middle of a project talking with a developer, and Boom lost total contact with the developer, just amazing at how really Sad it was that they decided to handle the situation in this manner, If it were 1999 I would say you know what these things happen but this was not what you expect to see from a professional organization.

    An email would have been nice with a word or two about what to expect from such an acquisition, as well you might have expected scriptlance.com (hello Rene are you drunk yet) might have insisted on a transition policy so that the customers that supported them for more than 8 years might have been given a little more professional transition.

    As someone else posted yes there were scammers on scriptlance.com as well there were professional developers too, far more good than bad however the transition was handled very badly from my point of view naturally as an active developer I have accounts on all major platforms so I already had an account at freelancer.

    Still it chaps my saddle to see such an unprofessional method being used not to mention flushing all the SEO value down the hatch using a redirect is it really 1999 or are they as good as they think that they are, from this point of view it looks a little like my 12 year old son did this deal.

    Wow, what a pain in the ars....
    Spent most of last night and all this morning trying to get everything figured out on the two sites. They merged my scriptlance account that I use pretty much every day and have several active projects going with an old getafreelancer.com account that I haven't used for 5 years...

    I agree with Tim, unprofessional to say the least.

    hat is happening here.. Suddenly any sites is sold any time...not normal sites they are big site... I was thinking what a big amount they will get
    FB -> instagram
    Google -> picnik
    and now
    freelancer -> scriptlance

    IT's very bad when one big site purchase other they will not increase it's features but they shut it down or cut of of it' features...

    now if someone have account in both scriptlance and freelancer after mearging he/she will have 2 account which is against of TOS :p

      Lol who told you that you will have 2 accounts? Big Companies know how to merge the existing scriptlance user id with there new system so you don't have to worry about two accounts
