One of my Yahoo accounts was compromised. I got a message when I tried to log in this morning that said my account had been accessed from a remote location I do not usually use, and I had to answer a security question and then change my password to log in. This did not occur with any of my other Yahoo email addresses.

I checked all of my Yahoo email addresses with the link you provided above, and it showed all were clear except the one where Yahoo prompted me to change my password this morning. So it is a useful tool to tell you if your email has been compromised. I checked my Gmail accounts for good measure, and they were all fine, too. It was just the one account, but that's one too many.

    Thanks for the link!

Well, this is a delicate subject as far as I am concerned.
About half a month ago, I received a lot of ”Last warnings” from yahoo talking about closing my account. Of course, I did not answer any of them, I just sent them to spam. But at some point I got bored of getting so many e-mails and felt harassed. So I wrote to yahoo and reported the issue. There are so many steps to be followed that I got lost somewhere on the way. I kept receiving e-mails and at some point I did not know which were for real and which were not.

I wonder...do hackers do that to amuse themselves? Or what is the point?

The only thing I have received recently is an email from one of my contacts only to find it actually came from a spammer which had some how linked and sent the same message to everyone on my contact list I promptly changed my login details. This is good information thanks for the heads up, I will be going through my yahoo account with a fine tooth comb now.

Yahoo sent out a notice and reset a lot of passwords to those that could have been affected. though the estimate of 450,000 was a large #, the actual # of those harmed were very small.

It seems that something is up. Just got an email from Yahoo about Associated Content account being compromised. Also got one from Amazon a second ago saying that they have reset my password since they believe my email address was on a list posted on the Internet. This has got me a little worried. I better start changing passwords.
