How to give your new website a boost.

I've been working on my new website nearly two months now. I know it's hard to start getting lots of traffic. I don't know how much I was getting. Maybe about 100 per day.

Anyway, I offer a book on my site. It helps people lucid dream. The trouble I had was getting people back to the site. I knew that I could write another book like this easily because it's only 4000 words, so I decided to sacrifice it a little.

I ended up posting a link somewhere that people could come to my site and download it. Once I did I had over 100 people comment telling me how much they enjoyed it. Even people who are experienced lucid dreamers were telling me it was very well written and explained stuff easily that could help newbies.

And my website link is all over the book. I even tell people to come back to my site. I've helped people out and hopefully my book will bring them great results and they will come back to my blog.

I figured, it's better thousands of people sharing your blog with their friends than nobody knowing it exists.

Here is a screenshot from the last 2 days:

And because they had to click to download it my bounce rate only increased by 1%. The average page views stayed the same and they time on site maybe a little more.

But now I have thousands of people I have helped out who will know about my site and might share it.

Just something to think about if you're waiting for the mountain to come to Mohammed.

Well it skipped the optin part and some people were still signing up, which I was pretty surprised about. Still, it was nowhere near the amount of downloads. Not even close.

But to be honest, there isn't that much blogs about lucid dreaming on the Internet so I'm pretty confident they will come back for more information if I bring them results.

Redirect mobile traffic to your website... That would give it a huge boost.

Wait are you saying the spike in traffic was from ONE link? Because I'm pretty damn impressed. Did you do that on facebook or something?

    Thanks - Red

Yeah, it was one link and it's generated 192 comments so far, but some of them are mine.

I don't really want the place to get saturated so I won't say, but if this sort of thing could help someone's business they just need to sit down and have a bit of a brainstorm and decide what place is right for them.

Yeah, hopefully the majority of the optins will come by more people reading and sharing my site. This is just a very small percentage.

Anyway, I have a master plan to build my list while I write my first proper book.

It just means don't wait for people to come to you. Take it to the people.

      Re: Mohammad and the mountain

IF THE MOUNTAIN WILL NOT COME TO MOHAMMED, MOHAMMED WILL GO TO THE MOUNTAIN - "If one cannot get one's own way, one must adjust to the inevitable. The legend goes that when the founder of Islam was asked to give proofs of his teaching, he ordered Mount Safa to come to him. When the mountain did not comply, Mohammed raised his hands toward heaven and said, 'God is merciful. Had it obeyed my words, it would have fallen on us to our destruction. I will therefore go to the mountain and thank God that he has had mercy on a stiff-necked generation.'

Yeah, that is some nice boost alright. And honestly, 100 visitors per day is not that bad either for a new blog.
