Squidoo Backlink Help

I seem to have some trouble finding the best places where i can submit my squidoo lens link for more backlinks. I want to offer some good content with the link so that it doesn't seem like i am spamming, But where? Does anyone know of a website that has high page rank links where i can submit my squidoo lens?

Also another quick question, how long does it take google to find backlinks?
Thanks everyone your help is much appreciated.

Have you submitted to social bookmarking sites like digg, stumbleupon etc; that will certainly help with some traffic.

For some high quality backlinks post on shoemoney.com find a topic and post on it and leave an anchor text linking back to your lens, has a PR6.

Also similar site is booshonline.com that has PR2 but still give good backlinks, just a couple I use and get good results with.

Angela Edwards has a great WSO which gives you 30 places usually PR6 and above where to leave high quality backlinks every month for $5 a month, 1st month free and guides you through the simple step by step process. I would highly recommend it.

    Hope this helps,
    Bryan

The Isle of Squid and Squoogle Article Link Directory are the ONLY 2 squidoo directories ive found with a pagerank and they get accepted right away. The other way i get backlinks to my squidoo articles is writing articles and using anchor keyword text link going to my lens.

Why don't put a couple of links in your warrior forum signature?

And for how long does it take google to find backlinks? As long as it takes. The only one who knows for sure is google and they don't say much. It varies a lot. But if you want a guess I will say that after two months in average, almost all of your backlinks will have to be found by google.
For checking backlinks try ( copy and pate in your browser, because I can't put links in my post):

    siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/

    it's free

There are ton of great places you can do this.

Just a few suggestions, when you can do so be sure to add the RSS feeds, also add links to the other sites you create so that the page rank ultimately goes up and feeds back to your main squidoo page...

All of the following are free and have some juice with google.

      Blogger blog
      Hub pages
      wikidot
      Another Squidoo lens
      free wordpress blog
      weebly
      Quizilla
      wet paint
      google groups
      youtube
      youtube blog comments
Hi PR article directories such as ezine, go articles, Amazines, buzzle
      forums
search digital point for link exchanges or purchase a few high quality links
the list goes on and on.

      Hope that helps.

Hi guys thank you for the all this information, it hhas helped me out as well. I have 2 Squidoo lenses and neither one of them have backlinked to my site yet.

I have a question: From the quote above you mentioned

"be sure to add the RSS feeds, also add links to the other sites you create so that the page rank ultimately goes up and feeds back to your main squidoo page..."

Now do you mean add the RSS feeds to the Squidoo lenses or your main site? And if I do have an RSS feed on my Squidoo lens (which I do) how do I ping it or does that happen everytime I edit and publish it?

The other question is the adding links to the other sites you create... so that would be links you would add to your Squidoo lens or links you would add to your main website pointing back to your Squidoo lens?

I'm sorry I feel really stupid when it comes to this stuff but I want to do it right. Thank you.

          Hi,

No problem, I know what you mean.

I'll try to explain it like this, let me know if it makes sense. The only thing I wasn't sure about was when you said, "Now do you mean add the RSS feeds to the Squidoo lenses or your main site". I am going off of the assumption that your main site IS your squidoo page. Personally, I would focus on building links to one or the other but there is no harm in both I suppose. Working on the assumption that the Squidoo page IS your money site. I might go like this.

          1. Take your squidoo RSS feed and paste it into notepad. Go over to any free RSS submission sites that you like and submit it. I use a bot to submit to many but if you are doing this by hand you might just submit it to Feedage and Postrank.

          2. Start creating pages on those sites I mentioned. Each time you do add the RSS feed where there is a widget for it such as blogger and squidoo) and links bank to your squidoo page using your target keywords as well as each preceding site you set up along the way. Meaning if first you set up a blogger blog add a link to your squidoo page. If next you set up a hub page, add a link back to your squidoo page and your blogger blog. Don't go too nuts with this or anything but at least build links to the top three sites, maybe squidoo, wordpress, and your hub page. A lot of these sites have link widgets so that is where I would add all of the sites you have set up so far. But if they don't I would stick with just your top three.

          3. Each time I create a new page/blog/site I would ping it somehwere like pinggoat and I would also add a bookmark to a a bunch of sites, at least Digg and stumbleupon. I use onlywire to submit to many, but there is a small annual charge.

One thing to note that is if you do this all too fast you will likely trigger one of googles spam filters and get temporarily penalized (probably 1 - 3 months) and then you will come back strong. So if you don't want to risk that, keep your link building down to 1 - 3 links a day.

Another great source of free links is that WSO that is running right now by Angela V. Edwards - It's only $5 bucks and its a really easyy to follow link building plan. But I would certainly start with those sites I mentioned. They even get you a little traffic typically speaking.

I meant to mention, be sure to ping each new site and also getting an RSS bot from Big Mike would not be a bad idea to get some quick action. Also social bookmarking is always good.

Distribute your articles with a backlink to your lens to many article directories.

Social bookmark your lens at social bookmarking sites and scuttle sites as well. Use those with high PR like Digg, Stumbleupon, Reddit etc.

Try to find related blogs and comment post, linking to your lens as well.

Excellent explanation! Thank you so much for that. This is where my knowledge of link building was falling apart. I was setting up these pages and blogs but not linking them to each other I was just linking them directly to my main page. So now I gotta go to work and fix that.

I appreciate the time you took to explain all this. It will not go to waste!

    Thanks again.

No problem, the only thing I want to reiterate in case I didn't make it clear was that it might be a good idea to sort of leave a trail all pointing back to your home page or only linking to your top two or three sites. If everything is linking to everything it will look a bit unnatural and water down the PR. I would sort of view it like this...

      1. Link everything to your main money site but don't link your main money site to anything in your little network you are building.

      2. Link everything to your 2 second tier sites, squidoo/blogger/wordpress/hubpages... which ever you want to concentrate on, but only link those back to your main site and each other, perhaps one or two of your third tier sites.

      3. Then just link everything beyond that to your main 3 money sites but not to each other.

      4. Where ever there are link pages or widgets you can broaden the link scope but you don't want everything to link to everything or it may look like a blog farm of sorts.

      5. When you are link from within content (excluding link pages and link widgets) I would only link to your top 3 sites. Too many links on a page will water down the PR that is being passed on.

      Hope that helps.

There are a couple of ways you can spread your links as much as possible.

    1. Article marketing using EzineArticles and the major article directories. Submit to as many article directories as possible.

    2. Social bookmark at as many social bookmarking sites as you can. Use web services like SocialMarker.

    3. Submit RSS feed of Squidoo lens to RSS feed directories.

    4. Forum Posting. Create a profile in a forum in your niche. Link the lens in your signature and start posting. You can even hire others' signatures for that purpose.

    5. Comment at relevant blogs. Run a search in Google and once you find those blogs, start commenting.

    6. Add your link in other lensmasters' Squidoo lens. This is called piggybacking. What you do is add your link and vote it. Some of the lens are popular and get tons of traffic which will help you as well.

Some great suggestions so far, and you can always try submitting to the social bookmarking sites such as digg, stumbleupon, and propeller. You can do all of these together at the directmarketing site all in one hit, it does take some time, but is worth it in the longrun. It will always help getting some traffic for sure. booshonline.com always has great resources for good backlinks, and is just as effect as social bookmarking site. Hope this helps!
