Obligatory 1,000th Post & Thank You WF!
You'll notice I referred to a "significant number of posts", not a "number of significant posts".
We humans usually measure the passage of time and/or progress with numbers. We also like to compare our personal numbers to those of others in similar circumstances.
Well, I'm not going to do that. One-thousand posts is simply one-thousand posts. Among the thousand hopefully some were helpful, others were intended to be humorous and a few were not well thought out before submission. That's how we learn.
In the, almost, three years I've been a member of WF I've benefited greatly in - let me count the ways...
On any given day...
I find one or more posts containing useful, relevant business information.
I find a laugh or two.
I can ask a question and receive a useful answer in short order.
I've been fortunate to meet and currently have personal relationships with several decent, knowledgeable marketers. People that have become my friends. People that it's highly unlikely I would have met in the pre-internet days.
Because of a WF local meetup I met my friend and business partner, Tom Launder, aka "nextebizguy".
WF, like the rest of the world, is made up of all sorts of people. The vast majority of whom are decent, respectable, respectful and honorable. Occasionally one of the other type slips in.
Case in point. Earlier today a member posted a thread which appeared to advocate and encourage online product theft. I was one of the first 10 people to read the thread. Between the time I'd read the four or five replies to the thread-to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding anything-and hit the report thread button, typed in a five word reason and submitted, the thread was gone, zapped and deleted.
That says a lot for the general character of this place.
It's said you're known by the company you keep. If that is true, and I truly believe it is, I'm proud that you folks let me hang out with you.
Allen, thanks for WF!
My best regards to all,
Elmer Hurlstone
