Newbies: Tips on Making Money As An Affiliate

How to make some good money as an affiliate? Often when you look for some hot products from Clickbank, they're pretty much already saturated with all of the review sites, info sites, videos & articles talking about it trying to promote it in some way.

Now, what you want to do is to go to JVNotifyPro 2.0 · Joint Venture (JV) Lists, Announcements, Blogs, And Community Forums. or Warrior JV because gurus - the big guys - almost always do a super prelaunch for their upcoming Clickbank products on there. And by prelaunching the product, it's not released to the public yet.

So now you are going to find a product that is produced by the gurus & will be launching soon or sometime in the future. Grab the product's name, go to Namecheap or Godaddy and register a domain name such as "productreview.com" or some sort. There's a pretty high chance that you'll get the domain name you want since the product is not released yet - and you are now a step in front of the public.

You then create a simple Wordpress site and make sure you properly setup the basic SEO settings such as titles, meta description, keywords, all that sorts. Obviously you can't write reviews yet because the product is not out yet - but you can write some welcoming page that welcomes the visitor and/or setting up an opt-in form to offer the visitor that you will inform them when the product is launched.

While you have setup all these things - all you have to do is wait for the product to be launched and so you can add some reviews for the product (either review it yourself, or outsource easily from fiverr).

You then ask, what about the traffic? where are the traffics coming from? why should they visit my site? Don't you worry about the traffic. The gurus & their potential super affiliates will handle it. They spend so so much money on advertising, solo ads, banner ads, media buys on their upcoming product.

Now the prospects or people with high interests will look for reviews of the product first. And there you go, you are one of the first few big affiliates with pages ranking on the first page of Google (trust me, you will - there won't be much competitors before the product is launched).

On one hand, you build a list of hungry buyers - on the other hand, you make a living with Clickbank affiliate sales without having to stress about the traffic.

The best thing about this method is that, there are tons and tons of products launching every now and then, setup a few, rinse & repeat and you're good to go.

You think that's it? After the hype of the product is over after few months time - you can sell the site on flippa for 10-15 times of the monthly. If you managed to make $100/day average from that one site - that's roughly $3000/month, you can sell it for $30k easily!

Now, why are you still here? take some action - I know you won't, but trust me, the money is waiting for you.

That tactic has been banded about things like Bring The Fresh for years. Long before I signed up to it. Imagine how much products there are; now imagine how much people are going to be using this same tactic.

People who have been practicing for years. If people are not experienced I can imagine them wasting their time on something that will be worthless faster than you can say tomato.

I made a lot of money with this method, only I did it with youtube videos. I've made sales in less then 2 hours after the product was launched.

I'm on every new product notification list I could find. You still gotta know which ones to pick though. It doesn't work for every product.

I've never done this style of marketing but I know it's nothing new. Also I could imagine amount of competition would be really high.

All you have to do is do a search for a big product name when it launches and you can see thousands of sites with the exact same idea as you.

Sounds great in theory but a lot harder in real life I should imagine.

Sounds very interesting, but it is the strategy of yesterday. Otherwise Ed Micah wouldn't share it here to everyone :-).

I feel more safe promoting popular products of the big companies. This approach worked and will work in the future.

Has anyone created and successfully sold a comprehensive affiliate marketing strategy product that details the reality of day-to-day business operations? Does this hypothetical or actual product explain the economic and legal realities of the market? For example, the long tail cut secondary to Panda, new state sales tax and the value added question of affiliate marketing's purpose to vendors.

The truth about affiliate marketing is that it requires intelligent work, technology application and understanding, a lot of work and passion. A sane person would quit as the late Steve Jobs said regarding success, i.e., you must have a passion to do something difficult because sane people would quit.

This is a shot across the forum's bow: I read The Verge's ScamWorld article, bookmarked The Salty Droid and of course read the New York Times. I've sold on eBay, Craigslist, Allegro, private niche sites and can tell you that outsourcing everything and pushing a keyboard is a small fraction of what it takes to make money.

What I find obnoxious is the co-opted "freemium" model peddled as info and coaching products. The real question is why anyone would sell a successful proprietary formula, e.g., Google's search algorithm. Google isn't selling it, yet everyone covets it. I think Google just kicked the dog sh@t out of spam.

I think the Internet is a super place to make money, but the spam-scam-sham just blows my high.

First, stop reading the "New York Slime". It's a propaganda rag dressed up as news and it is anti-free markets, so within its pages you will find much to frighten and discourage you. That's the last thing you need. Try "The Wall Street Journal" (especially the online version) instead.

Second, an inexpensive and excellent way to get started in affiliate marketing, in a way that will be the right way, is to join the Millionaire Society. I am not an affiliate marketer for M.S., although you can sign up to be one. You can check out the Face Book page.

Third, you're right that hitting a few keys and making a few mouse-clicks is hardly all that it takes to make money. You are already doing something very smart by being a Warrior here. Another thing you should turn to is learning how to use writing and videos to get visitors to your affiliate sites. Stay here and follow enough threads on this forum for a little while and you will also discover technology and special techniques that will, over time, work wonders for you.

@Brant YouTube is PR2. I'm working on it. It takes the work out of consumer decisions if the "infovid" is done well.

RE: NYT... I beg to differ but I respect your point of view. I like a few writers there and it is still the newspaper of record for the US (imho). LinkTV, Democracy Now, Euro News, RT, Max Keiser... I'm informed.

Affiliate marketing is a new direction but the Millionaire Society is another "info-product". WOT extension shot it down immediately; a page 1 Google search result riddled it with holes and it reminds me of paid advertising-lead generation. I look forward to the day when a reputation model is built on the Web to protect consumers. Hypothes.is [sic] is developing an open source annotation model that will inevitably kill what Panda did not: spam, deceitful practices and fraud. I hope more people read this last part of my reply. It may change the Internet and route the lazy, lying looser that peddle worthless **** to the hapless.

        Cheers

I think I've heard this method before somewhere already, but never had a chance to implement it...

With the last few bits of tips, I think this is one of the methods that I learned lately that I think it's going to work!

    Thanks for the great tips!

Thats a powerful revelation there. Thanks ed. I learnt also that you have to include a bonus of some sort to encourage the buyers to buy from your site. Ed left that out... or may be am wrong!.

      Thanks for your feedback Celente.

Yes I probably learnt this from somewhere on the net based on my experience, but definitely not "directly copied" from someone's product.

Do you really think it is such a great idea to enter the IM niche without knowing anything about IM?

how can a person create a list of raving followers if he/she doesn´t know a thing?

how can they choose what products to promote if they have no experience to know what works and what not?

IM is peer to peer... and it is a tough crowd, I really don´t see how a newbie can pull it off.
