IM related Domain Names - Where is the best place to sell them

Hello Warriors,

I am hoping to receive some advice regarding my Internet Marketing related Domain Names i have acquired over the last couple of years. I have been interested in IM for a while now (about 3 or 4 years) but owing to a combination of factors - the usual ones i am afraid (Work, not enough spare time, family commitments, Procrastination, Information Overload, Newbie nervousness etc...) i have failed to get anywhere with my domains. I have a 1 hour journey each way to work and as most of that is on the motorway i have plenty of thinking time to come up with ideas for Domain Names.

I tried a few years ago on SEDO and parked about 12 domains. They got negligable traffic and i have since let them expire. These IM related domains though i hope are a bit more interesting and i would like to know what you all would suggest as my best course of action.

I have seen on other posts that some people have received advice to not bother as they are wortheless, if that is also the case for me then please let me know.

I will not list all of them as that is not polite, however here are a few that should give you an idea of what i am talking about:

dmaindomain,com
dmainnames,net
iamnewtothis,com
imnewtothis,com
imtrainingadvice,com
imtraininginfo,com
imtrainingsystems,com
imtrainingtips,com
theinclowd.com

Most of the above Domain Names i also have the .net and .co.uk TLD's as well.

I have other Non IM related Domain Names but for now i wish to do something with those listed above.

I would like to thank in advance all the Warriors that choose to respond as i realise that your time is precious. Kind regards,

Paul

    Hi Paul,

It's always the same story, here, when people ask for feedback about a list of domain-names: some people like them, others see no value in them.

I think it's fair to say that these have little potential SEO value, but obviously that's "not what they're about" anyway, so it's barely worth mentioning. Some are perhaps brandable.

Here's the thing: a domain-name is worth what you can sell it for. They don't have inherent value beyond their reg-fees. What they're worth to you depends entirely on your skills at identifying and approaching people to whom they might have additional value. Income from selling domain-names depends on one's experience and personal skill-set: this is the reality that few people ever comment on, in such threads. People typically imagine that the skill is in identifying names that "have value" but that's only a small part of the equation. The real skill is in identifying and approaching potential purchasers.

I've bought and sold a couple of hundred domain-names over the last 3 years, just as a little sideline (and I don't mind admitting that I've bought more than I've sold!), and the one on your list which really shines out to me as having "potential value" (to me) is imnewtothis.com. That's the one which I'd definitely have registered myself, in an instant, if I'd thought of it. It has many possible uses and it ought to be marketable (and I'll very happily buy it myself, if you don't want much for it!).

But there you go - until the money's in the bank, it's all personal opinion only, and doubtless many will disagree with me, anyway.

      Alexa,

Thank you for your response. It is heartening to know that someone else thinks that at least one of my Domain names has merit! I concur that the art is in finding someone that either needs your name or can see potential in your name.

I will bear in mind your kind offer, but i need to find out a little more so that i do not offend you with a ludicrous price or annoy myself with a silly cheap price!

Thank you again for your time. Regards,

      Paul

Not at all - I wish you good luck in marketing them. (I strongly suspect that you'll get more for imnewtothis.com than my budget! ).

I agree with what Alexa said. A domain name is only worth what you can sell it for. So be sure to market it correctly, create and attractive sales page, and ask for a reasonable price

I don't think you should keep buying domain names. Especially if you don't know what sells.

I'm guessing the last one is meant to say theincrowd/theimcrowd/theincrown?

I don't think any of the rest are worth anything. Maybe if your "new" ones said "iamnewatthis", but I don't think "iamnewtothis" would cut the proverbial mustard.

Don't list them on Flippa. Find somewhere cheap.
