Any way to do video marketing when you don't want to be on camera?

I just don't feel like putting myself on camera at this time. I feel like Youtube would not be effective because of this. Is there any way to video market when you don't want to be on camera? I've seen those powerpoint type Youtube videos, but whenever I see one I click away cause it's boring! People want to see funny stuff, interesting stuff, etc.

What do you screen capture though? Seems boring. Say you are selling a pair of shoes...what would you show them?

      • If I were selling a pair of shoes I'd use Animoto with a half-dozen or so still photos, some energetic music and probably some short video clips. It's a great effect.

You could also do as above but add a Fiverr-sourced spokesman at the front.

Oooo! Funny and interesting? Dancing shoes set to lively music comes to mind. Maybe put some funky animated color/pattern backgrounds behind them. A Mexican jumping bean effect.

A comedian could go to town with this idea! (I am NOT a comedian and could never pull this off.)

Sounds lively and interesting to me!

          Food for thought...

If you're selling women's shoes, you'd want to show lots of leg with those shoes.

But seriously, you could show the legs and shoes walking through different settings to convey comfort, appeal, durability, whatever your angle is. That coupled with your narration or a voice over with a voice that fits or compliments your message should be fine.

Powerpoints; videos with a voice over; paying someone else to read the script while being videod.

That's pretty much all I can think of - don't be camera shy, there's nothing to worry about.

Just record what you are doing on your monitor.

I have seen tons of videos like this. and I prefer it to watching someone.

This suggestion works really well with a talk-over to make things clear. I've just began playing around with this with one of the free screen recording utilities (CamStudio).

And also many people these days do the talk over with the text content appearing on successive screens. Gives you a chance to listen and read. I read somewhere that this presentation offers a significant benefit since the info is being received by two sensors at once.

Personally, I prefer both these presentations better than seeing an actual person on a tutorial vid.

      All the best,
      Paul

I suggest you try using a powerpoint presentation, animoto, or try outsourcing the project to someone on freelancer or odesk. They have some skilled video makers there.

using a face increases conversion rates, and if you are desperate, you could hire actors on the cheap. Last guy that helped me only cost $50 and he was more than thrilled. You can even find people on Fiverr. You will want to use text and stuff too. I suggest using Sony Vegas for video editing and then looking for tutorials on youtube or buying custom transitions and stuff.

Why don't you want to be on camera? I made over 40 videos on youtube. Not one of them got a comment about me personally. People tend to not pay attention to you so much as you think - unless you get so nervous that you sound like a robot. Then they'll just think you're boring. Get on camera and ham it up - it won't hurt!!!

To make interesting video you don't always need to show yourself on the video unless you are singing/dancing.

The 'tutorial' 'how to' category videos can be created using powerpoint, slides or recording your screen activity. And these videos have lots of visitors as well may be more!

As others have said, record your screen and talk over the top of it. But if you do this, make sure that what you're doing on screen is actually interesting to watch. Try demonstrating a product that you're talking about, and just make sure that it's really relevant to what you're saying.

Simple and Effective way: Buy Unique, Eye-Catching Video.

Quoted from my blog post: promote your product online

" youtube marketing is very important in your marketing campaign. While there are millions of videos floating on the cyber world, it is important to find an original, unique video which can catch viewers’ attention. Michael Jackson’s dance moves are definitely unique! The problem is there are not so many dancers who can put the MJ’s spirit within dance moves. Being a Moondancer for more than 10 years, I’m confident my Moondancing gig on Fiverr will offer you the best dancing performance you can find.

Basically, I can hold a sign or add a title at the beginning or the end of the video. For only 5$, you can have a very unique Moondancing video to upload on your own youtube channel or website to catch viewers’ attention

Allot of people do product reviews without their face in it, just showcasing the product. If it's a physical product this is a great way of doing it.

I understand that some people are camera shy.

There is a way to promote using video marketing without showing face.

You can use windows movie maker to make videos which showcase your productS. You will describe the products using your voice.

    Hope I answered your query.

You can use only your voice. Buy a microphone and start recording. Add images and text on your video and it's ready to bepublished to youtube.
You can add only text and images if you don't wanna record yourslef talking, but it's good for your viewers to hear you explaining too.

    Hi Dave

    Very interesting point you've raised.

My answer is simple. Your customers know, like and trust you...so that means spending the money you would have otherwise spent on buying a confidence training course or perhaps some hypnosis...

Just do it! The first time will feel weird, then second less so...etc, etc!

I see lots of suggestions here, but I am going to reiterate it... Use fiverr for this.

Now as for the question.... Is it worth putting "your" face to the product/service? I am going to tell you from much experience YES!

Our best converting videos come from what others would consider sad looking production of a persons face explaining a product or service in an animated way.

I don't know why this is, but there are lots of variations you can do with this.

"sad looking production of a persons face explaining a product or service in an animated way."

Do you mean, for example, someone sitting at their kitchen table talking about a product that they "just discovered", and they talk about it in a very enthusiastic way?

Try funny pictures and upload them to a facebook fan page, that is a great easy, free, illegal and NON boring way to get traffic, which I think is what you are interested in. You can copy every image you want if it is funny, I don't remember where but I read that funny images or comedy doesn't have copy rights, YAP as read, doesn't have rights, so it will be 100% free.
    All the best.

There's a number of ways to create videos. It really depends on what you want to do.

One option is to be "on camera", but without your face in the picture. You can use a free program like Audacity to change the pitch of your voice so people don't know it's you.

If you can give more specific ideas as to what type of videos you are thinking about creating, we can give more specific responses.

I think you should just do it regardless of whether you feel like putting yourself on camera.

The main thing that holds people back to make more money online is self-doubt. You can easily overcome self-doubt by just doing it. Be like Nike and give it a shot. You have nothing to lose.

If you switch to a task that only makes 30% of your potential revenue because you are too scared to perform the more profitable task, you're missing out on a lot of money.

Have courage and go for it.

The majority of videos do not have a person there being watched. So most likely what you need to do you can do with powerpoint, screen capture etc.

But also not wanting to go on camera...well how about this. If you are successful people will be looking at you, so why not just get used to it so that you can handle it better when your success comes in heavier than it is now.

    Couple of ideas for you...

    1. If you have the product (shoes, electronics, video game, printed book or course, etc...) then simply film you opening, explaining and perhaps even using the product (this doesn't have to ever include your face and most don't) We have done well promoting affiliate products this way

    2. Screen captures of actual websites where you highlight some of the key benefits - you talking through the top 2-3 benefits from a website is a great way to pre-sell - especially for longer sales letters where you can cut to the chase in video

    3. Screen captures that show you introducing the clip (30s or less), then move to the screen capture (which can be your own powerpoint slides, webpage or even a digital tablet that you markup as you go along)
