Best way to market sites?

Ok, I am new here. I am no expert in SEO,(limited knowledge or online marketing as my thread will show you.) :confused:
I have decided to enter the world of online marketing. I have researched a large number of exact match domains, checked out the exact monthly traffic, and am now trying to workout what the best way forward is.
I have purchased Serif web design to build sites and have tested out 5 sites, 4 seem to be sand boxed, 1 is on page 1 for retail jobs in London, (retailjobsinlondon ) I am trying to put together a plan of action.I don't mind hard work etc as long as it pays off, and I obviously cannot spend years following complex plans that may or may not work. I have learned that just because something works for one person, it doesn't mean it will work for you. I was going to try and work in partnership with someone who could design sites that could then be marketed but couldn't get anyone to offer enough commitment. I also don't want to waste hundreds of researched domains, (hope Penguin hasn't destroyed the exact match domain power or I am screwed lol).
A couple more questions.
-Those selling links,articles etc, on here for very good prices, are they genuine? I know that a lot of replies offer validation, but I am not sure how genuine they are.

-I am thinking of using Skynet hosting so I can interlink my sites that match topics through blog links. Anyone think this is a bad plan?
Sorry if this is all mundane, but I can exchange knowledge on power lifting or playing the drums lol.

    I strongly believe that the ebooks and articles being sold here are genuine. You can check a users Thanks and Posts to add more validity anyways. Cheers!

      I hope so. i have purchased a few and am reading through at the moment. Any views on exact match domain strength now? I am relying on it being strong for this project to work.

    I would outsource some of your work especially the SEO.
    This will free you up to work more on your sales.
    This way you can guarantee that the job is done properly and you don't have to spend ages learning the techniques yourself.
    It is a good idea to have a basic knowledge of Internet Marketing though so you can handle any client requests and problems.

      Would you think there is a market to lease or sell optimised sites on page one for competitive keywords/phrases? Or do you think that the work/cost involved would be too high for the revenue generated. I am really interested to hear the opinions of seasoned marketers.

    Please forget about exact match domains! Since Penguin, exact match domains could easily get you penalized if you are not careful building backlinks.

        My EMDs are still doing okay. There is a reason why I think EMDs will always have a certain advantage.

        Imagine you start a company now called blahblahblah999.com. You are a start-up and a small site. But if your business slowly gains traction, becomes popular and users start to search for your company name, what result would Google want to have first when someone searches for blahblahblah999? Same as Amazon or Apple or Walmart.

        That said, I think there is no doubt that authority sites is the way to go in the future.

            A blog is a website. An authority website can also be a blog.

            Most people would consider an established website with lots of quality content (videos, articles etc.) based around the same topic to be an authority site in that particular niche.

              So a blog with like 5 or 6 pages of keyword related articles? Surely that should be an authority ahead of an agency or e commerce shop etc.

    Contrary to what a lot of SEO sites want you to believe, creating content on your own can be easy, and will directly translate in to sales as Google begins to index your site. Also, depending on the price you are getting charged for Web design services, it might be in your best interest to learn some of the ins and outs of some Web design platforms such as WordPress. It is easy to pick up, and can allow you to create a professional looking site with almost no code writing. I have built several sites on my own, while balancing schoolwork and sales, achieving the top rank for several money-making keywords, solely on my own merit.

    Outsourcing is what most SEO companies want you to do, but with the right effort and targeted keyword research, you can write your own articles and build natural links without shelling out large amounts of money you could invest in other areas. Don't get me wrong though, SEO companies can help you out enormously, but if you really are trying to get in to the internet marketing business, it would be in your best interest to learn these things on your own. Time is your most important business partner in the internet marketing world, so don't always look for the quick out.

      I understand, but it is value that I am interested in, ( very poker I know, but relevant in business I think). It is no good selling a page 1 site with 200 exact searches for , say, $375 that has taken me 2 months to market. I could write 10000000000000000 wso's offering alternative strategies to that kind of income. Number one would be work in Tesco. If someone will add 20 good links and I can get them indexed with an exact domain, i would expect a high ranking, another shot of links and that would be a strong site, with articles etc, ( as long as the links are solid and high pr). I think I am just trying to get the best value from each site that I build and sell/lease. Time is money after all lol.

    Authority sites are sites that have valuable information, that when someone mention something it was your site who'll be the first thing that would be with their mind. This are also sites that are build for the purpose of branding and as well built with high number of loyal visitors.

    Why is everyone so concerned with SEO. It just seems like a lot of time in front of your computer for boring and long term results. Why not simply do solo ads. A quick squeeze page then send them to your site. If you content in compelling enough you get the highly coveted bookmark.

    Obviously there are multiple ways to setup your SEO campaign. What I would recommend for what you are talking about is to have your money site setup and use your other exact match domains to generate links to your money site as well as other "Non-competing" sites. I would host your exact match domains with another hosting account - Green Geeks offers unlimited inodes!. I would write genuine articles for your exact match domains and nothing spammy, then you can do other SEO using other methods (social, articles, bookmarking, directories, citations etc).

      I am looking to sell/lease out sites on page 1 for emd's that attract decent traffic, 1-2k per month exact match. Interlinking on some kind of seo hosting is an option, though would still need more of a wider portfolio of links i think. If I do it all myself, I am spending maybe 1 week on a site that will make me maybe $500 if I am lucky enough to lease. This is indeed something, though not a good return for a week. £340 roughly. I got retail jobs in london . net to p1 for 6k in searches with just a few article links. Does the dance around p1 & 2, no portfolio and only 3 pages of blog. thinking a couple of decent link packages from here over a couple of months, paid for articles, maybe 5 of 400 words about the keywords etc and I could spend no more than a day in total? Very confusing lol.

    research buyer keywords and target those.

    Also send out a press release. We do this every week now, with really good results...the catch is you have to write something that is newsworthy and that gets media attention, and then redirect all your traffic to squeeze page or video or both. This is working wonders for us.
