Opinions Wanted On OTO & Clickbank

Just your personal opinions here... I want to offer an audio OTO upsell on my site when when someone purchases my main product. I'm trying to decide if I should offer it before or after they get to clickbank to finalize the purchase.

Any thoughts on this? What has worked best for you guys?

The other question is if I do give them the OTO before they go to Clickbank- how do I set up the combined purchase so that the customer pays the combined price for the main product and upsell at the same time?

I look forward to your thoughts. And thanks for the help.

ClickBank says you have to before they pay.

One method others use is to offer the upsale on the download page.

Your only choices are to do it before they get to the payment page or once they get to the download page.

The thing you have to be careful about is that they might be ready to make the purchase, but then your OTO scares them off. That's why most people do the OTO after the initial sale has completed.

However, only testing will tell if that works best in your case. If you have a compelling enough OTO, you might do better by offering it on an intermediary (between sales letter and CB payment page) page.

If you display the OTO before they get to the payment page, you will need two links -- one if they're taking the OTO, and one if they just want the standard product.

Each of these links will be pointed to a different product at ClickBank. So one product will be your standard product, and the 2nd product you setup at ClickBank will be a combination of the standard product plus the OTO components. This will require you to setup a separate download page on your site and point that 2nd product to that download page.

      Best,

      Paul

    Another option...

Offer the audio as an on page exit.

That wouldnt be an OTO but could help converting people bailing.

    Correction, guys.

You can put your OTO after they made their first purchase. That is how I set up my product using DLGuard's OTO script. That way, they cannot click to go back in their browser when they are presented with the OTO which can cause you to lose some sales.

Clickbank allows you to set up your OTO to come up after your buyer has paid for the first frontend.

    This is how it works:

Frontend >> Buyer Makes Payment >> OTO Option 1. Buy OTO 2. Go directly to Download Page For Frontend.

If he takes up Option 1 which is to buy the OTO, he will make his payment and then be sent directly to Download Page For Both Frontend and OTO.

So if I want to set up an OTO on clickbank,

I would put the the OTO page as the thank page in the clickbank set up.

On the OTO page itself, I would put an option at the bottom, "No Thanks, just take me to my download"

If someone chooses to buy the OTO, the new thank you page has to contain the frontend and oto downloads.

      Is this correct?

      Thanks

This thread is about 3 years old and is no longer relevant. You need to be careful when searching the forum for threads that you look at the dates. Things in this industry change so quickly that you need to make sure you are getting the most up to date info.

Clickbank now have a feature called Pitch Plus:
    https://support.clickbank.com/entrie...-Functionality

    1. Customer orders front end product.

    2. Customer goes to order form and pays.

    3. If Pitch Plus is setup, customer will then be taken to the OTO page. If they click to purchase the product it is automatically charged with the details they entered in step 2. They do not need to re-renter their payment details. If they decline the OTO they will be taken to your next OTO or thank you page (depending on the flow you create).

    4. Customer gets access to all products they purchased.

Thanks mate.. I know about it, but I want to use e.g. paypal instead of CB as a payment processor... For this 'Pitch Plus' feature do I need to setup my OTO product as a new one and pay another $49.95?.. and what if I want to set a PLR product as my OTO, that's not allowed by CB's terms?

No need - just set it up as a new item in the same account.

But what if they already have this PLR product? And one more question: can I use exit offers (new offer then person closes a tab in his browser)?

It's not clear what ClickBank's policy is with regard to identical products in the Marketplace but if you make it another item in your account it will not be a Marketplace product so I don't see a problem.

Depends where - exit offers are not allowed on a PitchPlus upsell page.

I really believe the best way to go is upfront-pay-OTO-pay again anyway, I think this is the only way Clickbank allows you to do it
