The best way to keep the link juice from links to pages not existing anymore?
Let's say you've acquired a domain with lots of links. Since the site used to have 100k+ pages, recreating them is not an option, neither setting up individual 301 redirects for each. But you want to keep as much as possible from the link juice.
If you "catch-all" them with a 404 page and from there you do a 301 redirect to the homepage, do you think you keep the most of it, or going through a 404 page kills it?
Any better method to do it?
