Are you certified in nutrition/fitness/whatever? Is there anything to be careful of when you are providing advice on your website? I actually know a ton about fitness and used to have a certification, but am trying to decide if I should get my cert again.

  • I'm a level 2 athletics coach accredited by Athletics Australia so I do have credentials that suit my site's topic. Having said that, I think there are plenty of sites out there that are created by people who don't have any pieces of paper that prove they know what their site is about. If you used to have a certification then you're in a better position and may well have more knowledge than many other site owners.

I just have a disclaimer on my site that says people should check with their own medical professional before following any fitness program.

    • I don't have a certification at all, but I do own several health and fitness related websites. Like Audrey stated, I just make sure that I have the disclaimer, normally linked in my footer, so that anyone can click to it at any time.
