Is it possible to earn by solving math?

Hi guys!

This is my first post and may sound silly.
I ma an Engineer in my professional life and because of my educations and professionalism I had to have a very strong command over Mathematics. Thus, I can solve complex problem. I do love to analyze problems.
Now, is there any any way to earn online money solving mathematical problem? :confused:

      Thank you Frank Miller, I do code, but they are very simple and require several common logic. Programing is highly focused on syntax where there is no important role of maths there.

      I like your 'online tutor' idea. But is it really possible?? Any suggestion would be granted respectfully.

    They don't give you the option of earning cash, but you can earn points, which you can redeem for all sorts of cool prizes. They ship most prizes all over the world, so no matter where you are based, this is a great option to get what you've always wanted, but never had the extra cash for.

    I've gathered quite a few points on Cramster myself, and I'm only good at basic level math. If you have advanced skills, you can earn more points, and get rewards quicker.

    Yes. My wife is a Math consultant and teaches math at various levels.

    She is NOT a school teacher. She has students whose parents are ready, willing and able to pay her to help their kids get better grades, so it's more of consulting than simply teaching because each student has different needs.

    Have you ever thought of setting up a Facebook members only page. You could also set up a traditional membership site, but you can charge a monthly fee on facebook as well and of course the interactivity of Facebook would lend itself to tutoring.

      Set up facebook page, linkedin and skype, as well as a simple 1 page website about your math tutoring service. Join forums for professionals who would need help with math, and also with homeschool or other student communities.
      Offer to help students and professionals solve their math problems over skype.

      You do not need to be a school teacher, just be really good at what you do!

    Surely there are ways to earn from teaching people math...

    1. Create free youtube math solving tutorials
    2. Create a site where people will be able to learn math by registering
    3. After sometime apply paid membership option

    Depending on the speed you can work at I would throw up an ad on fiverr and occasionally get 5 bucks for a really quick job. It may not be much and definitely not enough money to try full time, but have you ever said 'Man, I wish I had 5 dollars less than I do right now.'?

    Little things add up. I may not have massive experience in the online stuff, but I do websites for small businesses all the time and earned $15 plus a nice lunch for setting up a clients Google Maps listing after the job. About $23 for 15 minutes of work? It's a no brainier.

    Join a site like elance or some other freelance site then get paid for the hour for maths tutoring, or even doing somebodys maths problems etc, this will be a good earner I think as there is a lot of money that way as it requires little planning and you can be paid very well.

    Then maybe set up your own offline or online tutoring business, there are ALOT of opportunities for you out there, you just need to grasp them.

    There are many teenagers or even university students struggling to cope with their Mathematics. Maybe you could set up a website that provides a live stream from probably 7-9pm everyday and get some donations from your students.

    Tuition offline is quite common nowadays, but why not try tuition online? Or you could try out Fiverr and provide a service of solving a difficult equation for $5. Might help people in the process of making money as well!

    i used to deal with an engineer who is very good in math but he left the town now,
    in our field -software development- there is many sites like rentacoder, getaprogrammer and vworkers where you can get professional and trusted help (in programming) for very good rates
    I searched for a similar service for math with no luck
    it's good idea for you to establish a business for this
    for now, I would be your first client, I have some graph (and data) and need the equation for it

    First of all everything is math...as you know its the language of the universe...

    So what you are really asking is...can you use this universal language to solve complex marketing issues and develop unique marketing strategies that kick butt!

    And the answer is YES!

    In fact. I would bet money that an engineer would make one of the BEST internet marketers!

    In fact 90% of my online "work" simply consist of analyzing and problem solving and

    I love every minute of it!

    You could also dive into cryptography and programming - you should REALLY enjoy this! Dealing with security is a very sought after specialty which could make big bucks.

    Programing is highly focused on syntax where there is no important role of maths there.
    Oy, that's why Google, Microsoft, Twitter, etc. hire people with Masters/Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science and concentrations in machine learning, or statistics, or math, for starting salaries of six figures a year. Because there is no important role of math in programming...

    Think bigger. Netflix's recommendation engine is a giant statistical inference problem. Google's PageRank is a giant linear algebra problem. Companies are founded every year that are about creating software that applies complicated math to some business problem.
