Anyone still on 64 kbps?

Hi everyone,

So I went to an ISP with a national presence and was offered an 'unlimited' Internet Connection that works at 7.1 Mbps for up to 15 GB.

Yep, even I was wondering how that is 'unlimited'.

Turns out that after the 15GB limit is through, the connection goes down to a lightning-fast 64 Kbps with unlimited downloading. (the rep gave a lot of stress on that 'unlimited' word)

I am appalled.

Now, while I am still trying to see what 'unlimited downloading' can be done with 64 Kbps, I just have to ask: is anyone here still using a 64 Kbps connection?

Is there any place I can find stats on this? Internet connection speeds by country etc?

Best Regards,
Varnita

Ok, now that makes me jealous as hell! :p

I finally got a broadband - still with appalling limits on how much I can download, but at least the speed is way better than the phenomenal 64kbps.

Anyway to get data on internet speeds across the world? Would be interesting to see that distribution on a map.

64 kbps? Have you tried downloading something on that kind of speed sir? It is so damn slow i think. Don't know if anybody here still uses that kind of speed but can't handle that too.

I know of some rural places that still have old coax cables that are 64kb in Austria. Still many ISPs say that you get a min. of 7mbits anywhere.

It's not possible for me to go with 64 kbps. I use 512kbps.

Your cell phone connection is much faster than that. That is amazing! Ask about some sort of upgraded throttling or something. How crazy.
